Lovely day in the Douro valley! - Anselmo gave us a lovely day tour of the Doura Valley. About a 90 minute drive from Porto in a comfortable car, we then enjoyed about an hour (out and back) on a riverboat through the river valley of the wine region. Our guide gave us lots of interesting history and information. We then went to a lovely local winery to learn more about port and then went to a restaurant/hotel/winery for a beautiful lunch and more wine tasting. It was a very pleasant day and Anselmo was a fun and knowledgeable guide!

Amazing day in the Douro Valley! - We had an absolutely amazing experience touring the Douro Valley with our guide Orlando. We were picked up from our hotel, and we first went to the quaint and charming Pinhao, then took a river cruise and ate lunch. After that, we stopped in Provesende and toured the tiny village. We then had a wine tasting at Quinto do Beijo, followed by a trip to Amarante, where we saw the sights before eating again and heading back to Porto. Orlando was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. Every part of the tour was incredible. It was definitely the highlight of our trip, and I would highly recommend it!!

Lovely day in the Duoro - Our group of 4 enjoyed a lovely Day with Gustavo exploring the Duoro Valley. He was right on time picking us up in his new Mercedes wagon. He is an area native and knowledgeable on all points of Portugals history and wine making. Everywhere we went he had friends and colleagues that took good care of us. I believe he designed this day in the Duoro for all of the guides that offer the tour. Gustavo was fun and interesting and congenial spend a day touring this beautiful winemaking region. .

Excellent Tour with Anselmo - We had an amazing time with Anselmo, he was punctual, super polite, very knowledgeable about wine and history of the area. We told him we were foodies and took us to the most beautiful restaurant with an amazing view and food. He was the one giving the wine tastings and explanation of the different wines. Totally enjoyed his company and wonderful tour. Highly recommended!

Excellent private tour - This was an excellent private tour with Gustavo who was very knowledgeable about the history and current wineries in the area. He brought us to wonderful wineries, many breath taking scenic views of the Douro Valley and a delicious lunch spot in town. Highly recommend this tour, it was a wonderful day!

Go With Gustavo! - My wife and I had a fantastic day with Gustavo touring the Duoro Valley from Porto. He picked us up on time from our hotel in a late model Mercedes which was immaculately clean and extremely comfortable. His knowledge of the area and of Portuguese history and culture made our conversation as easy as talking to a friend, which now Gustavo is. We mentioned our interest in tasting dry wines and we visited two wineries with tasty offerings of both dry and sweet. He also stopped off at several view points to showcase the valley. We took great interest in watching a river cruise ship pass through a very large lock, a rise of perhaps 10 meters or more. We stopped at a lovely family owned restaurant for lunch and it was so good! We had the goatling with rice for two people and it fed us all. Gustavo’s wine recommendation was perfect! It was a full day of pleasant conversation and we learned a lot about the Douro and Portugal. Thanks, Gustavo! I will recommend him to everyone I know coming to Porto.

A beautiful day in Douro Valley - Gustavo is very knowledgeable and we learned a lot on this trip. The scenery was breathtaking, and Gustavo showed us local places where the tour buses don't stop. Since surprisingly, there was no traffic on the way back to Porto and we arrived earlier than we had anticipated, Gustavo drove us around Porto and showed us some sights that we had not been to before. Overall we are very happy with Gustavo and our tour.

Relaxing Douro private tour - We did a private tour of the Douro valley. Our guide Rui Pestana was great, very informative and just fun to talk with. He was born in Porto and grew up both there and in the Douro valley so he knew lots of interesting history. Our day was relaxing and not rushed. We started with some sightseeing by car, took an hour long boat ride on the beautiful river (the boat had about 20 people on board and was less than half full), we had an amazing lunch at a place we never would have found on our own, and did a wine tour and tasting at a charming family run winery. Sure we could have packed in more stuff to see in a day but we never felt rushed, we're on vacation and relaxing was the way to go!
