MUST HAVE. The best experience of the trip to Peru - The best experience of our trip to Peru. We traveled a family of 7 people (with 2 grandparents + 3 children) and had some reluctance to it, but it proved one of the most wonderful and enriching experiences. Don’t look for luxuries, but you’ll find the warmth of native island families who welcome you with the best they have. Being able to teach your children the way of life they have in the islands of the Uros, Amantani or Taquile is priceless. Our guide Bruno was an excellent professional, caring for children, respectful of families and committed to the ancestral traditions of the islands. It’s a MUST if you want to know the culture of local communities, landscapes that leave you speechless and dreamy sunsets. Thank you, thank you and thank you very much to the families who housed us and Bruno for their interest in us knowing the traditions so that they are perpetuated over time.

Great insight into local culture on Lake Titicaca - Our guide Carlos was very well organized and spoke for us in a very good understandable English. He was open to questions and answered everything. He said saw a lot of exciting information. Also the overnight stay on the island of Amantani with the local population was great, but very easy. Great insight. The party for the tourists in the evening is not for everyone. I would book them tour again immediately.

Family Visit with Children to Uros Taquile Amantani - Visits to the Uros Islands were an enriching experience for the family. In Amantani we enjoyed rural agriculture, sharing their ancestral food, My youngest son fell in love with the island and the feeling of its people and landscape, while still small we were satisfied that he valued nature and caring for the environment🌳🌿🍀 and typical dance, we all danced and enjoyed music and dance 🎊 Already in Taquile we continue to enjoy family walks. The captain of the boat and the guide Pablo offered us and excellent service. Also the family that welcomed us Amalia and Huber provided us with a pleasant atmosphere, tidy and clean in the stay. We are grateful.🇵🇪

Living on Amantani - We really enjoyed the 2 day trip. Bruno was a very nice guide who told us a lot about the culture, life and locals of the islands. The family of Lydia, Yuri and Frieda have welcomed us very warmly. There was always a soup, a main course and tea afterwards. The room was clean and tidy. All in all a nice experience!

Amazing trip - It was an impressive trip, especially staying overnight with the residents of Amantani Island, experiencing a different countryside vibe in Thailand and eating delicious Peruvian food. Hosts are very well taken care of, and the sunset at the top of the hill is beautiful.

Best tour experience in Peru! - Overall this was a fantastic experience, well organised and with a very good English tour guide. The homestay in Amantani island was lovely, and the island itself was beautiful, as was Taquile. Learning about the floating reed islands was unforgettable. The perfect end to my trip in Peru!

The tour operators... - The tour operators communication was great from the time of booking. As we were arriving Puno at 5 am on the same day of the tour, they helped arrange transportation and breakfast at a local hotel near the main square. So we could wait comfortably there. They then picked us up from the hotel to join the wider group for the tour. It was a very large group with a mix of Spanish and non-spanish speakers. The tour guide made sure to explain everything in both Spanish and English. We didn't feel like we miss anything. We first visited Uros Island where they shared how they come to build the island. After that, we got herded to local houses, to which we had hoped to learn more about their lifestyle but instead they just kept selling us their products. We felt they were very pushy. After that we got on the boat ride which costs 15 soles. It involved them paddling us to the middle of the lake and then stopped, then asked for payments, then used motor engines to drive the boat to the other side of the island. These people just came across as money grabbers - we didn't feel a single ounce of genuineness from these locals. Also when we got on the other side of the Island, there were more shops and a Cafe. Quite honestly we believed that this part of the trip can be shortened. The next island is great as we got paired up with locals, Nicholas and his wife. They were so sweet and just wanted to learn about us and tell us about their family and their community. We could tell that they genuinely enjoy hosting. We really wished we spoke better Spanish as we had so much to ask them. They made us lovely local meals upon our arrival. We got to see their father earth ritual area, and participated a dance party in the evening. The walk to the father earth ritual is a steep uphill walk, so be mindful. Please note that there is very basic facility at the home stay - your own room with toilet outside. No shower or working sink. We have gotten used to it from Inca Trail so it is not a problem for us. The next day at 7 45 am, we embarked on our journey to the next island. We had to walk 30-45mins around the island to get to the main square from the port. The locals then performed their local ritual (dance and music) for us. We honestly think they can benefit from watching America's got talent or similar shows - they are not great performers and the lack of enthusiasm in their performance made it hard for us to enjoy. But we definitely enjoyed our guide explaining the local traditions after at a restaurant. The lunch was delicious! After that we left to go back to Puno which was a 3 hour boat ride. To get to the port, we needed to walk 10 mins to an arch and then head downhill (quite a lot of steps). We got lost here as the guide told us to go ahead without telling us that there will be split roads at two different points. The direction we got from him was that "walk and you will see an arch". We had to guess at each split points which direction we go. It also got chaotic after we arrived Puno. Not everyone got the instruction to walk ahead to the main road from the port, in order to take the bus back to main centre. We managed eventually. They also constantly made us walk right after full meals, which was very difficult as we were at such high attitude. So be mindful. Overall this was an okay tour. If you are in Puno and want to learn something about the locals.
