CUSCO– ABRA MALAGA – SANTA MARIA (BIKING AND RAFTING)
Cusco Region - Guests will be collected from their hotel between 06:00 – 06:30 a.m. using our private transport. En route, there will be a stop in the town of Ollantaytambo for breakfast and/or to purchase snacks. The journey continues for another hour to Abra Malaga, at 4,316 meters above sea level (the highest point), where the biking adventure begins. Participants will enjoy a leisurely three-hour downhill bike ride, descending 2km, while taking in the stunning views of the cloud forest all the way to the town of Alfamayo for lunch.
Sacred Valley - In the afternoon, participants will engage in a rafting tour on the Vilcanota River (class III, IV). Afterwards, they will head to the hostel to relax, have dinner, and enjoy a restful night’s sleep.
SANTA MARIA –BAÑOS TERMALES–SANTA TERESA
Santa Teresa - Breakfast is served at 6 a.m. to prepare for the hike to Santa Teresa (16 km) starting at 06:30 a.m. The first two hours involve an uphill trek on an authentic Inca Trail. Several stops will be made along the way to explore the area’s rich flora and fauna. The trail includes a section that once connected the sacred city of Machu Picchu with Vilcabamba (the lost city of the Incas), where the guide will provide detailed explanations about these significant sites, the history of the Incas, and their communication system. Lunch will be in Quellomayo. Note that the trail is hilly. The hike continues for another 3 hours to reach the thermal baths of Colcamayo, where there will be time to relax and enjoy the therapeutic waters. The final destination is the village of Santa Teresa, where the second night will be spent in a hostel.
SANTA TERESA -HIDROELECTRICA- AGUAS CALIENTES
Santa Teresa - Breakfast is served at 7 a.m. At 7:30 a.m., participants have the option to enjoy a Zip Line activity, continue hiking, or have free time to relax.
At 11:30 a.m., transportation by bus to Hydroelectrica is provided, where lunch will be served. After lunch, a 3-hour hike along the famous train line to Aguas Calientes will take place, followed by check-in at the hostel. Dinner is at 7 p.m., followed by free time.
MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
Machu Picchu - Early in the morning, after breakfast (around 05:00 a.m.), the hike to the citadel of Machu Picchu begins, taking approximately 1.5 hours. Arrival is around 7 a.m., followed by a two-hour guided tour of the most important buildings of Machu Picchu, including the Inca temples and palaces.
At the appropriate time, participants will descend from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes to board the train back to Ollantaytambo and then take the bus to Cusco. Alternatively, those opting for the bus back to Cusco (7 hours) will start the 3-hour hike back to Hydroelectrica, where the bus transfer will be waiting.
