Aussies visit Rottnest Island - Great ferry trip service. Pleasant cruises from Perth to Fremantle then speeds up to cross to the island. Some commentary as we cruised with good info off landmarks on the way. Lovely staff onboard and Bar and snacks available. Plenty of room and also has clean toilets onboard. We took the 0830 and returned in the 1630 which gave us plenty of time for a great day on Rottnest.

interesting boat tour with little and a little more speed to Rotto Island - The trip with Sealink was really interesting and exciting. First we drove about 1 hour from Barrack Street Jetty to Fremantle at a normal quiet pace. From Fremantle it got a bit faster the last 30 minutes as we crossed the Indian Ocean. Fortunately it was not undulating as it was in the morning at 9.30 am. There was a small sweet on board as a welcome gift which was surprising and delicious at the same time. The ship was on time, on the outbound journey as well as on the return journey and the staff were nice. Everything worked out very well and you felt very well taken care of.

Great trip, but so expensive for a family of 5 ($395 return). - Great trip, but so expensive for a family of 5 ($395 return). We had a wonderful day on Rottnest though it worth doing. We recommend the hop on hop off bus if you have small kids as riding the island is hard work.

I enjoyed my visit to Rottnest Island - I enjoyed my visit to Rottnest Island. Visitors can swim at a beach, ride a bicycle or enjoy a ride on retro Train and have a guided tour at Military Bunker from WWII. Local Buses provide Hop-on / Hop-off services on the Island. Plenty of restaurants and overnight accommodations are available at Rottnest Island.

A must do trip! - Anyone heading to Perth should definitely check out Rottnest Island. It is absolutely beautiful. We went snorkelling at little salmon bay which was stunning! Some of the beaches are very quiet and perfect to spend some time on with your travelling group. We saw lots of quokkas. The best place to see them is by the main arrival and departure area. The ferry staff were great and friendly too! It takes about 90 minutes to get across on the ferry but it’s a pretty ride. The staff talk you through what is around which is interesting.

Rottnest is popular tourism destination - Rottnest is a favorite island of mine since we took a ferry there. The trip from Fremantle is around 20 km (just over 12 miles). It's one of Western Australia's major and best-known tourism destinations. The island is surrounded by over 60 beaches. There are many activities that entertain visitors, including snorkeling in secret lagoons and renting a bike to cycle around the salt lakes. Checking out the wildlife is entertaining, including the famous quokkas, which are like mini kangaroos. One of the most notable events for Rottnest is the race from Fremantle to the island, which attracts 2,000 swimmers. Just how long you want to stay is up to you, but the trip to Rottnest is popular by ferry.

Exceptional Staff - Beyond Amazing - I was on the ferry that departed at 4pm on 7th Jan from Rottnest to Fremantle, at the time of the tragic seaplane crash that occured. The crew were amazing. Many would have seen the accident happen, potentially known the pilot or people involved. They stepped up at the time, asking passengers to not take photos or use their phones, respecting the unfolding incident and the sensitivity of the situation; which I believe everyone did, it was amazing leadership from the crew, at a time of certain distress for many of them. They communicated to passengers in an extremely caring and understanding manner, suggesting that if anyone needs help to talk a little what had just happened, the services of lifeline and other such organisations are available. The care and professionalism was exceptional, the boat crew that day saw something nobody should experience, someone’s worst nightmare and last moments alive - yet they had the ferry’s passengers welfare in their minds the whole time - it’s really had an impact on me just how amazing they were. I can’t begin to express my deep thoughts and condolences for the crew on that day - they are very special people and I hope they are looking after themselves, and want to thank them for what they did on that trip. If anyone is headed to Rottnest - this company to travel with, they are genuinely caring and amazing people.

Trip to Rottnest. - Our guests loved every bit of the day! The beauty of the island; its nature and beaches, the cute quokkas. The history was a sombre reminder of man’s inhumanity, the reparation road is right on track. The ferry trips gave them another view of the city. A memorable day for all.

Enyoy the day - Weather perfect - Only issue is human tourists which you expect nowadays when some people who arrive later jump queue to be first on boat to get what they consider best seat. Actual trip over the water to Rottnest Island was very relaxing being provided with a very good verbal commentary on sights when goign past points of interest. Rottnest is a lovely little island with a places around that you can swim, snorkel but like all tourist attractions now getting very crowded especially during holiday periods. During daytime only see occassional quokas (I was lucky to get a photo), so if really want to see then plan to stay overnight. Plenty of tourises partaking of the bycicles/sedgeways with made it interested when the buses were showing other less active tourists around the island. REMINDER- You MUST take water with you and is limited on island.
