ITINERARY

69 Lake Day 1 - Huaraz – Cebollapampa – Huaraz

The journey begins in Huaraz, traveling by road to Yungay (1 hour). From there, the trip continues on a dirt road leading to Cebollapampa, the starting point for the ascent of Pisco (5,750m). The route takes you through the stunning Llanganuco Valley, where you will stop at a checkpoint to pay the entrance fee to Huascaran National Park (5 soles). Along the way, you will pass the beautiful lakes of Chinancocha and Orconcocha, surrounded by the majestic peaks of Huascarán North (6,655m), Yanapaqccha (5,347m), Huandoy (6,395m), Chacraraju (6,112m), and Pisco (5,750m). From Cebollapampa (3,850m), the trek to Lake 69 (4,600m), a stunning blue lake, begins. After spending an hour at the lake, the descent to Cebollapampa follows, where a bus will take you back to Yungay – Huaraz.

TRANSPORT FROM YOUR ACCOMMODATION IS INCLUDED. Shortly after, we’ll depart Huaraz by roadway, heading towards Yungay (the journey takes 1 hour). We then embark on a dusty trail that leads us to Cebollapampa, which marks the commencement of the ascent to Pisco (5,750m). Along the way, we traverse the majestic Llanganuco valley and halt at a checkpoint to cover the Huascaran National Park admission fee (30 soles). En route, we’ll admire the stunning, color-rich Chinancocha and Orconcocha lakes, ensconced by the towering peaks of Huascaran North (6,655m), Yanapaqccha (5,347m), Huandoy (6,395m), Chacraraju (6,112m), and Pisco (5,750m). The journey begins at Cebollapampa (3,850m) and entails a 3-hour hike uphill to the breathtakingly azure Lake 69 (4,600m). After spending 2 hours at the lake, our descent will lead us back to Cebollapampa, where we’ll catch a bus returning to Yungay – Huaraz.
