Incredible bird watching - We had 2 tours with Jose S. The first was to Rainmaker Reserve and it was so awesome that we booked a private tour with him a few days later to Nauyaca Waterfall. He is an avid bird watcher and has the eyes of an eagle. We saw a variety of avians, including toucans galore, hawks, a hawk-eagle, a trogon, an aracari, a tiger heron, tanagers, chachalacas as well as a hummingbird (moving and resting), among others. He also found a mother/baby sloth pair and a poison dart frog. He loves what he does and it shows. He will persist with determination until he finds interesting birds. His pictures with the aid of a scope are amazing. Highly recommend him for his professionalism and expertise.

Book this company! - The tour was understated and low-key, but full of surprises. And a terrific learning opportunity for my kids (11,14&15). We got to see monkeys, poison dart frog, learned about the plants and eco system of the rainforest. The biggest surprise was how many waterfalls we’d see, there are pools that you can swim and a waterfall you can jump from. It was an absolute blast and the guide tested it out first to make sure it was safe. He had better binoculars than we did and let use them. He took photos of us to remember the trip. He was so good Lots of stairs-so just be aware of how much climbing you’ll need to do. But was a terrific hike in the rainforest and the suspension bridges gave spectacular views.

Way overpriced - The activity is extremely overpriced! The place is beautiful, yes, but you are better off going on your own and buying the tickets at the park. Our tour guide was really nice, nothing to say about him. However, we were done with the tour quite quickly as we were only two, and then stopped at a gas station for lunch- we expected at least a Soda in Quepos… If we would have taken the trip alone we wouldn’t have spend a 3rd. I absolutely do not recommend booking the tour- I felt a little robbed to be honest. Again, nothing to say about our guide, he was great with loads of knowledge. We have taken other tours that were a lot better, 12 hours long, and paid less than half of what we paid for this one. Additionally we had to follow up with the tour operator to request the pick up time, and they were 30 min late.. considering we were only 2 people staying at the same hotel…
