Additional Information

The Juatinga Crossing is one of the most beautiful crossings in Brazil. You will have the experience of walking through the Reserve’s lush Atlantic Forest, a forest that is as well preserved as few places in Brazil. During the crossing we will visit desert and paradisiacal beaches, incredible waterfalls and peaks with wonderful views. And the best thing is that you only need a small backpack with your clothes because we sleep and eat in native homes, so you can get to know the Caiçara culture of the Reserve’s natives up close.

Journey worth it! - Eugênia is very professional, cautious and attentive. She organizes the logistics of the crossing well, transparently passes on all the necessary information before and during the crossing, is extremely concerned with the well-being of each person every day and is always attentive and following with all the necessary rigor the safety measures. safety during the trails, in addition to paying attention to guiding us to adjust our hair and legs so that the photos come out more beautiful lol and being lively and interacting very well with everyone. Eugênia had already announced that she would guide another group and that we would be guided by Flaviane, a local resident of Ponta Negra, an accredited guide, passionate about Juatinga and very competent, our group worked very well with her. We had contact with Eugênia during several moments of the crossing as well and the last part (at night) we did with her. The crossing is beautiful, the points visited are worth every climb and descent and the trails to each point are also very beautiful and are not extremely dangerous, nor extremely exhausting or isolated, but require caution, a certain physical conditioning and muscular resistance (the person cannot be sedentary or have serious joint or mobility problems), detachment with hot water and internet (it is available at several points, but there is no way to guarantee) and respect and love for nature, as there are 4 days of hiking in the Atlantic forest with climbs and descents with a backpack on your back, but Eugênia makes this very clear in the initial contact. The houses we slept in are simple, but exceeded expectations, very cozy and clean and the local residents were very welcoming. We always rest well at night, we don't get cold even though it's autumn/winter and it wasn't necessary to wake up at dawn any day, as Eugênia plans her time well, which reduces tiredness. The meals are very delicious and the only caveat is that dinners could be served in a slightly larger quantity. It was a wonderful holiday and in excellent company. I just have to thank and recommend that other people live this experience.

It changed my concept of guidance! And the crossing is worth every effort!!! - The crossing is incredible. Walking through the Atlantic Forest is an indescribable feeling. The crossing takes us to beaches, waterfalls and viewpoints with stunning views and not being directly exposed to the sun makes the walk a lot easier. We did the route between 05/30 and 06/02 and we only had one day of rain, only at night. As for guidance, Eugênia is the perfect balance between rigidity and sensitivity. I had never done a crossing before and I confess that at first the stiffness scared me. Along the way, I understood that rigidity has two objectives: the first is to ensure that you know exactly what you are going to do and prepare your mind for it (don't be fooled into thinking it's just a little trail); the second is to ensure that everything she planned for us along our path will work out. Therefore, it is the most imposing "let's go", the "hurry up", "wake up", "we are at the last minute" that will make us drink coffee, lunch and dinner and visit all the incredible places, without us you need to worry about absolutely nothing. We made fun of Eugênia's rigidity. Accentuated by the accent, it gave us a good laugh when we realized the sensitivity behind this "control": Eugênia will want you to dive at Praia dos Antigos and take a bath in the well still warmed by the sun; They'll want you to arrive in time to watch the sunset at the Praia do Sono viewpoint and take the trail back in time to see the night transform... To do this, she will try to keep pace, but with sensitivity to understand each person's needs and how far we can go. For Eugênia, it's always far away. Gnt can always go a long way. Open your heart and allow Eugênia to rule your lives throughout these 4 days because everything she does has a reason. I'm so used to it that yesterday I missed lunch time... lol I miss Eugênia in my life! 😊

Memorable trip - I was recommended a guide with Maria Eugenia, and the decision to have her as a guide exceeded all of our expectations! Extremely competent and super professional, he put together an excellent itinerary and took care of all the details! The meals were delicious, always with an immersion in caiçara cuisine. Having contact with the region's residents was heart-warming and opening the mind to this culture so rich in stories. In addition to the stunning views that will certainly make me want to come back, being among loved ones and a strong, safe guide created unforgettable memories that I want to keep for life. Eugenia, thank you for so much!! You are incredible!! Waiting for new itineraries to go with you! S2

A very special experience with a special guide - The tour is very beautiful and special. We slept in simple but beautiful and remote places. We see beautiful landscapes. However, it requires physical effort and endurance. The guide Eugênia is super careful and competent. A different person. She keeps everything organized and provides all the necessary support. Everything went super well!

Back to the roots - Think about visiting a place with paradisiacal beaches, starry skies and sometimes seeing the sunrise or sunset from the balcony of your house... These were some of the attractions I experienced on this trip. Everything was organized with care by Maria Eugênia and her team, who in addition to being a great guide, is also a photographer 😁. I loved this trip and I highly recommend it. Bia

Juatinga crossing 4 days - The 4-day itinerary should be done in 5 or 6 days. It's quite tiring. More time walking through the forest than enjoying the beaches and waterfalls. Our guide Flaviane was excellent and I believe the experience would not have been as good without her! Going in a small group (4 people) also made it a lot easier! We visited incredible places, we were very well received in the places where we slept and we ate very well!
