Tachogang Lhakhang Bridge - The trip begins with a pick up from the traveler’s hotel in Kathmandu. The pickup time is usually in the morning hours after breakfast. The travelers are then escorted to Tribhuvan International Airport. After the check ins, the travelers will board a one hour long scenic flight to Paro, Bhutan. After their arrival in Bhutan, the travelers will be meeted and greeted by our airport representative. They will then take a short drive towards Tachogang Lhakhang Bridge.
The Tachogang Lhakhang Bridge, also known as the Iron Chain Bridge, is a historic suspension bridge located in Paro, Bhutan. It leads to the Tachogang Lhakhang Temple across the Paro Chhu River.
Buddha Dordenma - After a brief tour of the historic bridge, the travelers continue their journey towards the very famous statue of Buddha Dordenma. Great Buddha Dordenma is a gigantic Shakyamuni Buddha statue in the mountains of Bhutan celebrating the 60th anniversary of fourth king Jigme Singye Wangchuck. The statue houses over one hundred thousand smaller Buddha statues, each of which, like the Great Buddha Dordenma itself, are made of bronze and gilded in gold.
Tashichho Dzong - The travelers will now continue their journey towards Tashichho Dzong. The Dzong is a Buddhist monastery and fortress on the northern edge of the city of Thimphu in Bhutan, on the western bank of the Wang Chu. It has traditionally been the seat of the Druk Desi, the head of Bhutan’s civil government, an office which has been combined with the kingship since the creation of the monarchy in 1907, and summer capital of the country. After the tour is over, the travelers will be escorted to their hotel in Thimphu.
Thimpu-Punakha Roundtrip
Dochula Pass - After a lavish breakfast at the hotel, the travelers make their way towards DochuLa pass to begin their second day at Bhutan. The DochuLa is a high pass across the snow covered Himalayas within Bhutan on the road from Thimphu to Punakha where 108 memorial chortens or stupas known as “Druk Wangyal Chortens” have been built by Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuk, the eldest Queen Mother.
Chimi Lhakhang Temple - After a brief tour at the DochuLa pass and a short scenic drive, the travelers will now arrive at Chimi Lhakhang Temple. The temple is a Buddhist monastery in Punakha District, Bhutan. Located near Lobesa, it stands on a round hillock and was founded and built in 1499 by the Drukpa Kagyu lama Ngawang Chogyal, who was the 14th abbot of Ralung Monastery.
Punakha Dzong - The final destination for the day will be at Punakha Dzong. The Dzong is also the administrative center of Punakha District in Punakha, Bhutan. Constructed by Ngawang Namgyal, 1st Zhabdrung Rinpoche, in 1637–38, it is the second oldest and second-largest dzong in Bhutan and one of its most majestic structures.
After the tour, the travelers will take a scenic drive (two hours) back to their hotel in Thimphu.
Take a drive back to Paro and visit Paro Taktsang
Paro Taktsang - Day three begins with a short scenic drive (one hour) from Thimphu to Paro. After the travelers are escorted to the base camp of Paro Taktsang, they may choose to hike (2-3 hours) or take a horse ride (optional) to the Tiger’s Nest. After a brief tour of the monastery, the travelers can again choose to hike down towards the base camp.
Kyichu Lhakhang - After an exhausting hike to and from Paro Taktsang, the travelers will then be driven towards Kyichu Lhakhang. Kyichu Lhakhang is an important Himalayan Buddhist temple situated in Lango Gewog of Paro Dzongkhag in Bhutan.
