Explore Versailles in a unique way - on a bike! This is the ideal method to appreciate Versailles’ vast gardens and you’ll get to experience usually overlooked highlights of Versailles like Marie Antoinette’s rustic Hameau, the Petit Trianon, and the Grand Trianon. You can also look forward to a picnic by the Grand Canal before touring the Palace of Versailles. Versailles, positioned just 16 kilometers/12 miles away from Paris, is our meeting spot near a metro station within Paris before we start our expedition. From this point, we’ll board the suburban train (~30 minutes) and grab our bikes situated opposite the train station.
- If a children’s bike is required, you must advise at time of booking.
- Operates in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately.
- You will cover an area of approximately 10 miles on a relatively flat terrain. The ride is leisurely and therefore suitable for all levels of fitness.
- Child seats are available if requested at the time of booking
- Tandem bikes are available for children aged 10 years and younger.
- All participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

The only way to see Versailles - Awesome tour and one of the highlights of our two-week trip to Europe. Bart, our tour guide, was great. He was knowledgeable, laid-back and funny. We truly learned so much. Biking around the gardens was spectacular. This is definitely the way to tour Versailles.

Best way to see Versailles - This trip was very organized and a perfect way to see Versailles! Our guide Rory was super informative and gave great history of the area through very humerus story telling! We started at the market to pick up picnic essentials then biked into the gardens. It is a long day so plan accordingly! We had walked about 10 miles the day prior through Paris so we were a bit tired! There is biking and quite a bit of walking. But this truly is the best way to experience Versailles!

A great way to see the gardens of Versailles! - Our guide was a fun loving man named Vladimir. His knowledge and communication of the history was easy to follow and informative. We had a wonderful day which featured a beautiful leisurely bike ride through the gardens of Versailles. I highly recommend this trip!

Great day with Fat Tire Bike tours in Versailles - What a wonderful experience. It was a long day, but one our best days in Paris. Our guide, Andrea, was wonderful. He was patient, as many of us hadn't been on a bike in a while and he was also very knowledgeable. His wit and commentary helped the group enjoy the town of Versailles as well as the grounds and palace. We found the quaint market and town very enjoyable. We followed Andrea's suggestions and purchased everything we needed for a picnic lunch. Then we headed off on bikes to tour the grounds and various parts of the palace grounds. Our tour ended with Andrea getting us into the main place and instructing us how to catch the return train to Paris once we had finished our tour of the Palace. Catching the train home as easy and an excellent end to a great day in Versailles.

Do the bike tour and gardens...skip the Palace! - Nick our guide was fantastic. He shared a lot of history and blended it with humor...perfect. The bike riding was all flat- very easy. Totally recommend! The downside (which was no fault of the tour company!) was the crowds inside the Palace. It was ridiculous... A total unorganized bottle neck. It could have spoiled the day except we ended with a stroll in the beautiful gardens. Do the bike tour and the gardens...skip the Palace!

A Great Day at Versailles - Our bike tour of the Versailles gardens with Fat Tire Tours was great. Our guide was knowledgable and fun. Our two teenagers had a great time riding all over the gardens. Fat Tire made everything so easy and accessible. Highly recommend!

Must do activity! - Wow! Our family of 4 had the best time on this excursion. OJ was a sweet, fun and informative guide that kept our whole group entertained. For active folks with school aged kids (ours are 10 and 13) this was a highlight of our time in Paris!

Versailles All Day Guided Bike Tour with Rory - Rory was such a great tour guide!. Our family appreciated his humor, deep knowledge of history and ability to explain details in such a fun way.
