The cliffs above the beaches contain remnants of German defenses, including concrete casemates with memorials. Visitors will also see the semicircular memorial colonnade with the sculpture “Spirit of American Youth Rising from the Waves” and large military operation maps. The Visitors Center houses a small museum with extensive information about the Battle of Normandy.

- Pointe du Hoc Ranger Monument - 13:00 - 13:40 Visit Pointe du Hoc, a significant cliff between Utah and Omaha Beach. This strategic point was the highest land between the two beaches and could target both. The site was a gun battery, fortified with concrete casemates and gun pits, as part of Hitler’s Atlantic Wall defenses. Learn about the 2nd Ranger Battalion’s efforts to capture this crucial gun battery on June 6, 1944. Many original fortifications and bunkers remain open to the public, including the fire control casemate, topped by a monument to the 2nd Ranger Battalion.
13:40 Departure to the Utah Beach Landing Museum, a 40-minute (40 km) drive.
- Utah Beach - 14:20 - 14:40 Arrival at Utah Beach for free exploration. Utah Beach, adjacent to Omaha Beach, is the westernmost of the Five Normandy D-Day Beaches, featuring numerous museums, memorials, and monuments. It was the first beach stormed by 23,000 American soldiers on June 6, 1944, to capture Cherbourg and its deep-water port. Casualties were relatively low, with 197 (including 60 missing). Units landing here included the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions, VII Corps, 4th Infantry Division, 90th Infantry Division, 4th Cavalry Regiment, and 70th Tank Battalion.
- Utah Beach Landing Museum - 14:40 - 15:40 Visit the Utah Beach Landing Museum, built atop a former German bunker. The museum boasts a large collection of historical artifacts, military vehicles, and an original B26 bomber—one of only six remaining.

The first WACO building features the only WACO glider replica in France, allowing visitors to join soldiers moments before takeoff. Over 500 gliders were used to transport approximately 4,400 soldiers, vehicles, ammunition, and equipment. The C-47 building houses the legendary C-47 aircraft, surrounded by a dramatic display of parachutes, mannequins, and realistic statues that engage visitors.
