- Our tour guide (Sunday) was extremely knowledgeable, beyond our expectations. We learned much about the art, the artists, and the history, politics and culture that influenced it all. We would definitely recommend this guide and tour.

Which is better, the Louvre or the Orsay? - It's a debate that many Parisians and tourists indulge in: Which is better, the Louvre or the Orsay Museum? Of course, the Louvre is the most famous and largest museum in the world. And it features the Mona Lisa. But the Orsay, while much smaller and a relative newcomer, has some pluses of its own, not the least of which is the largest collection of impressionist and post-impressionist art in the world. Located inside the former Gare d'Orsay, a Beaux-Arts, turn-of-the-century railway station, across the Seine River from the Louvre, it opened in 1986 and is 574 feet long and 246 feet wide. It contains 12,000 tons of metal, more than the Eiffel Tower, and attracts 3.3 million visitors annually. The original station clock still keeps time over the main gallery. Over 3,000 paintings and sculptures are on display. Most noteworthy are van Gogh's Starry Night over the Rhone and his Self Portrait, Whistler's Mother, several Monet masterpieces and several of Toulouse-Lautrec's Moulin Rouge-inspired paintings. Also paintings by other masters, including Manet, Renoir, Degas, Rodin, Pissarro, Gaugin and Cezanne. Take a break at the 5th floor cafe with its huge station clock window for views over the Seine to the Louvre and Sacre-Coeur Basilica.

Don’t miss this! - We had limited time in Paris and this was a perfect tour! My husband knew little of French art and thoroughly enjoyed himself, as did I. Claire was so enthusiastic about the subject and so smart! The museum was crowded but she helped the group maneuver easily to the significant works of art. We took advantage of some time afterward to explore the museum a bit more. The Orsay is a must see (we skipped the Louvre)! Highly recommend Claire and this tour.

Florence 👏🏼 - Florence was an amazing guide for our family! Her ability to navigate the museum coupled with her energy and enthusiasm showcasing the amazing works of art kept our kids ages 8, 9, 11 and 13 engaged. She balanced spending time with the impressionist paintings (which I enjoyed most) and sculptures that kept my littlest ones seemed to engage with more. Thanks again!

Wonderful time at musee d’Orsay - We took the semi private tour. Julien was a very knowledgeable, and passionate guide who evidently loves the art and his job. It was the first time for our daughters and us to Musee D’Orsay and he took a lot of time to explain the highlights. Despite the crowds, we didn’t feel overwhelmed and learned a lot. He was very kind to our kids and made sure they could see the art despite the crowds. Very happy we booked this tour especially given how far we had travelled from Hong Kong and it was peak season.

Comprehensive historical... - Comprehensive historical presentation. Delightful and very knowledgeable guide. I left my cane in the taxi and Nancy got me a portable chair that was a lifesaver. She took care of everything we needed and explained everything clearly. She is a star. The museum was beautiful—an old train station so well worth seeing. There’s even a coffee shop on the 4th floor. A good representation of major artists.

A mediocre and expensive tour. - It’s terribly expensive. Guide was well versed in history but not art. Not good. I never paid so much for so little back on a Viator tour and I have been on a lot. Guide was too inexperienced and went too fast. Did not ask for questions and frankly seemed pissed off and defensive when I asked questions.
