Did you know that a brief 40-minute train journey from Paris can transport you completely into the lap of nature? While you’re in Paris, consider switching things up and embarking on a scenic hike in beautiful countryside. This small group excursion, limited to just 10 people, traces the footprints of renowned Dutch artist Vincent Van Gogh, all the way from Pontoise to Meriel via Auvers sur Oise.
Van Gogh created numerous esteemed masterpieces in Auvers sur Oise (80 to be precise). He passed away in 1890 and was interred in the village with his brother Theo. Our trek will also lead us through the town of Pontoise, the rural landscapes of Vexin, the charming village of Auvers sur Oise, and alongside the Oise river till we reach Meriel, from where we board our return train to Paris.
DO KEEP IN MIND that this is a 7.5 miles HIKE that includes a few slopes. To truly relish the walk, you need to be reasonably fit. This implies being capable of briskly walking a minimum of 5km without taking breaks. Be aware that the tour spans 5 hours.
