Good value - I debated a long time between doing a full day private guided tour and doing a group tour like this one. I'm kind of glad I didn't do the guided tour. The audio tour at Foutainbleau was pretty good. There is signage at Vaux le Vicomte. We had the added bonus that it's Christmas season, so we got to see Vaux Le Vicomte decked out for the holidays. Just wow! We had exactly enough time to grab a golf cart and see all the gardens. The guide even did a short side excursion to a village church that was about 1000 years old. totally amazing. He took photos for us outside the palace. was very willing to find us a restaurant for lunch and help us translate the menu based on what we wanted to eat. In case you are concerned, they will run the trip even if it's not fully booked. There were only 3 of us on the trip. I would definitely recommend this trip and recommend Blue Fox. Our guide spoke excellent English, showed up exactly where we were supposed to meet, exactly at the right time. My only "wish" would be that we had a little less time at Fountainbleau and a little more time at Vaux le Vicomte. That being said, there wasn't anything i did NOT get to see - but I finished Fountainbleau and had like 25 minutes until it was time to meet up - If you take this tour, perhaps ask for a phone number of your guide and if you get done early, text them that you headed into town for lunch early and ask for an address where to meet up and a time. It looked like a cute town if you have time to wander.

Wonderful day tour!! - Fantastic tour with a fantastic guide! What a wonderful way to see the chateaus! Also, I’m quite grateful that they didn’t cancel when no one else was signed up as of the day of the tour! Merci beaucoup!!

A special day just outside Paris - Fantastic. Our guide arrived early at our meeting spot and drove us safely and thoughtfully to Fountainebleu and then Vaux de Vicomte with a few added stops thrown in. Guide was very knowledgeable and shared such interesting information. Felt very well cared for. A lovely pause for lunch. Convenient drop offs at the end of the day. A special experience!

Wonderful tour of 2 wonderful castles - Fantastic Guide with Brun , the lady from the Brie country. Many highlights on the places to visit , very interesting the Chateau de Fontainebleau but FANTASTIC the Chateau de Vaux-le-Viconte ( with a little stop to see the castle of Blandys-les-Tours from outside )

It's a palace or castle that's both glittering and full of small beauty.
It was also an interesting tour, with people coming from different countries.

Wonderful tour of two beautiful properties! - A wonderful way to spend a day outside Paris. Two beautiful French Chateaux that are nearly as crowded as Versailles with Fontainebleau being the inspiration for the palace in Versailles. Our guide, Brunhilde, was fantastic. I would recommend this tour and Blue Fox Travel!

A wonderful trip to chateau country - The first of my Bluefox tours A wonderful trip with the amazing Brun(hilde) as driver and guide. The tour was well organised and allowed plenty of time at both chateau plus a lunch break. An excellent way to visit two of the best chateau in comfort in a small group. Bluefox is attentive and messages remind you of upcoming tours. Great value for money and highly recommended.

Great Historical Chateaux - worth the trip! - The castles are spectacular and the time spent at each one was sufficient. Lunch was fantastic - a recommendation of our guide, Olivier. Unfortunately, Olivier was not very fond of several things: Napoleon, french gardens, French presidents, Montmartre... He seemed very knowledgeable of history, and he allowed his skewed perspective of that to taint his appreciation for the simple beauty of the sites. At each of the two chateaux, audio guides take you through, so it was a minor annoyance. He was very kind.

Loved Vaux le Vicomte and our guide - Loved our guide, Cesar. He was knowledgeable and personable (and an excellent driver). Personally, I did not care for Fountainbleau. I found the audio guide to be way too lengthy and dull. For the most part it was overwhelming opulence. Vaux le Vicomte, on the other hand, I found very interesting. Versaille was modeled after this castle and it is like a mini-Versaille without the crowds and the story of the castle was fascinating. Leave time to wander the grounds. Personally, I would've liked to have done only the Vaux le Vicomte but, hey, if you're a French History buff then Fountainbleau may wow you.
