Nestled along the Marne and surrounded by wine hills, it is home to many of the region’s prestigious champagne houses. Épernay is a must-visit for wine and champagne enthusiasts. The Avenue of Champagne is a popular tourist attraction.

• Abbaye Saint-Pierre d’Hautvillers - 13:40 - 14:10 Visit the Church of Saint-Sindulphe at the Abbey Saint-Pierre d’Hautvillers, a former Benedictine monastery founded in 665 and active until the French Revolution in 1789. Dom Perignon developed winemaking methods in the Champagne region here. Today, 26 local Champagne producers are in the village. Stop at the viewpoint for panoramic views over the vineyards and Marne river.
