Chagres River - Embark on a unique adventure in Panama, featuring an exciting mix of kayaking, hiking, and cultural experiences in the breathtaking rainforest.
This journey starts with a convenient pick-up from your accommodation in downtown Panama City or Casco Viejo. After a 50-minute van ride, you’ll arrive at the Chagres River’s edge. A canoe will transport you to a higher point for the kayaking adventure. As you paddle along the river, the current will assist you, making this adventure suitable for those without prior kayaking experience and safe for non-swimmers. -
Chagres National Park - During the trip, enjoy a 20-minute hike through the lush rainforest, navigating through mud, sand, and slippery rocks, leading to a pristine waterfall. Swimming in this natural oasis offers a refreshing way to connect with nature! Afterwards, continue the journey down the river to an Embera tribe village. Here, enjoy a traditional lunch and have the chance to change into dry clothes in the available bathrooms before exploring their exquisite handicrafts.
After a day filled with adventure and cultural exploration, a canoe will return you to the van, allowing you to relax and unwind as you head back to your accommodation.
Recommendations:
Wear water shoes or sports shoes with good grip that you don’t mind getting wet.
Bring sunscreen. Mosquito repellent is not necessary.
You can swim in your clothes or bring a swimsuit under your clothes, as there is no changing area at the waterfall.
Bring cash if you wish to purchase souvenirs.

The best of Dan - Dan Taylor was an excellent driver and tour guide...we learnt alot about panama and they culture and history ...he also made sure of our safety and then we had an enjoyable time.....we look forward to seeing him next year....

Great day trip from Panama City - Very nice day trip to meet the Embera community
Alcy was a very good driver and a great guide with good energy, he was eager to share with us.
The car was very comfortable with AC and very clean
Good trip to support local communities who are reliant on tourism to live.

Tour and Village experience - The tour guide was really informative and helpful. The village was beautiful and the people were very nice. I really enjoyed it and learning about their culture. The waterfall and kayak ride was nice, it rained a little while we were there and was definitely worth the full experience.

Great guide - Or guide Dan guided us through the rain forest to the lake and falls and to the Embera village. I was impressed to see the close relationship he has with that Embera community - family-like. He was the translator in the village event. Great knowledge of the tour areas. He also has exceptional knowledge about the history of the country and particularly the city. Dan speaks three languages and communicated with us in English.

This is the REAL Jungle Cruise! - Wow! Wonderful trip along the Chagres River to Kayak & swim in the waterfall with the Emberra Village as our final destination. Alex, our guide was very nice, flexible and knowledgeable ! The hike through the jungle was beautiful, as was the boat ride along the river. Our kids commented that it reminded them of the Disney Jungle Cruise, except it was the real thing! Highly recommend!

Waterfall and indigenous village - Super organized. Nature and waterfall Beautiful. Please do not expect a lonely jungle with many animals, as some groups are on the way. Great guide, great villagers, delicious food.

Excellent river and waterfall experience - We enjoyed the kayaking and waterfall experience. The beautiful landscapes. The guide, Kevin very helpful. It is important to wear wet shoes that have a grip to walk to the waterfall. It would be ideal if they increase the portion of food.

Alex was a great tour... - Alex was a great tour guide, very friendly and lots to tell you about the local area. The Kayak and Hike are short so manageable for most people - you’re gonna be wading in water so bring shoes you’re happy to get soaked ! Was great to see the village and learn about the traditional life. There is a light lunch followed by some traditional dancing. Bring cash as there are lots of craft stalls with items for sale - o grabbed myself a couple beautiful bracelets for $10 each

Full value for your bucks! - The tour was excellently organized. Dan, our guide, explained so much about Panama City, which was over and above the trip inclusion. Embera tribe provided a great welcome and a beautiful presentation ofbtheir culture.
