Chagres River - Embark on a unique adventure in Panama, featuring an exciting mix of kayaking, hiking, and cultural experiences in the breathtaking rainforest.
This journey starts with a convenient pick-up from your accommodation in downtown Panama City or Casco Viejo. After a 50-minute van ride, you’ll arrive at the Chagres River’s edge. A canoe will transport you to a higher point for the kayaking adventure. As you paddle along the river, the current will assist you, making this adventure suitable for those without prior kayaking experience and safe for non-swimmers. -
Chagres National Park - During the trip, enjoy a 20-minute hike through the lush rainforest, navigating through mud, sand, and slippery rocks, leading to a pristine waterfall. Swimming in this natural oasis offers a refreshing way to connect with nature! Afterwards, continue the journey down the river to an Embera tribe village. Here, enjoy a traditional lunch and have the chance to change into dry clothes in the available bathrooms before exploring their exquisite handicrafts.
After a day filled with adventure and cultural exploration, a canoe will return you to the van, allowing you to relax and unwind as you head back to your accommodation.
Recommendations:
Wear water shoes or sports shoes with good grip that you don’t mind getting wet.
Bring sunscreen. Mosquito repellent is not necessary.
You can swim in your clothes or bring a swimsuit under your clothes, as there is no changing area at the waterfall.
Bring cash if you wish to purchase souvenirs.

Excellent!! - Excellent experience, 100% recommended. If you go to Panama you have to experience it, and the tour company is fantastic, the food is wonderful, and the Tribe are beautiful people, their culture, dance, and crafts—I loved them!

Great Experience - Ally was a great guide. The experience is worth it even if you are not an outdoorsy person. I have not been kayaking in a while and I managed. The waterfall was beautiful and so were the Embera people.
It is best to wear water shoes for the hike to the waterfall. It is rocky, but definitely manageable.

Amazing Tour - This trip was truly amazing! Our tour guide Alci was very knowledgeable and made me and my wife feel very safe. The Embera people were so nice and we learned a lot about the history of the people.

Truly amazing! - Our driver Dan Taylor from Safe Transportation was awaiting us when we got out the Air BnB. He connected with us from start, throughout and to the finish.
He explained everything in detail and made us feel right at home. The experience was amazing!
The ride through the Chagres River and eventually into the rainforest was breathtaking. Meeting the people from the seven different tribes along the river was an experience of a lifetime. Thank you.
I would recommend this to anyone who really want to connect with the people, the origins of Panama.

Go for it! - I really appreciated the pick up and drop off service. That helped a lot. Heads up: you DEFINITELY need water shoes and wear something you don't mind getting dirty.
