This was a great way to... - This was a great way to visit several places in Lake Atitlan. We had a wonderful guide. San Juan was my favorite with the colorful umbrellas. This is a must do tour!

Fantastic! - Fantastic tour and an absolute steal at the price! You get to see so much of the two villages - all sorts of different little tours and tastings along the way - and learn so much about a wholly different way of life. Don’t miss this one.

The magic that is Lake Atitlan - Pablo was an awesome guide who helped us to explore San Juan and Santiago Atitlan! The tour was exciting, interesting and informative, we learned about the beekeeping process, chocolate, textiles and Mayan culture! It was fun to ride the Tuk Tuk’s around Santiago Atitlan, we also met some cool people on the tour! Don’t wait book this tour!

Wonderful cultural experience - My guide Maria was amazing! She spoke in English for myself and Spanish for my travel companion. We enjoyed visiting the different towns. Our favourite Was San Juan la Laguna. Seeing the colourful street with umbrellas, honey, weaving & a religious celebration. So much culture in the one place! We were originally looking at going across to one of the towns on our own but it was going to be expensive for us to travel each way. This tour was cheaper than just the boat charges we were quoted by local water taxis. I believe it was better value for money to book with the tour. I also wouldn’t have learnt about the culture from the knowledge shared by our guide. The only thing potentially that could be changed is including a tuk tuk ride in the final location within the price of the tour. Thank you Maria for such a wonderful day together!

Just Okay, Recommend Looking Elsewhere - The tour wasn’t bad, but it really wasn’t that good by any means. For starters, our tour guide was half an hour late to meeting us—and we were the first stop outside of the tour agency’s office. Picking up everyone else from their hotels consisted of all of us walking with the guide and standing in front of each hotel to wait, so since we were all just walking anyways, I feel like that time wasted with pickups could’ve been saved by having everyone meet at the agency’s office that was MAXIMUM five minutes away from the farthest hotel we had to walk to. Would’ve saved everyone a lot of time that could’ve been spent on sleep or seeing the actual places on the tour. The stops themselves were nice, but also VERY rushed. San Juan had us seeing the textile, painting, honey and chocolate industries/artisan creation process in town but each station was decently rushed. Then, in Santiago Atitlán, we spent so much time at lunch waiting for our food despite it having been pre-ordered forty minutes before that the only stop we saw at the tour was a church before leaving. Our guide certainly did not seem like he was enjoying himself, or rather made it extremely clear that he would rather be somewhere else. Despite being under the impression that we signed up for a tour that would either be fully in English or fully translated while also in Spanish, our guide barely translated any of the information at the stops (my daughter who understands both languages was able to tell me the information the guide failed to share in English) and was also very quiet (which isn’t necessarily bad, but he would often move without really being able to alert the whole group and also moved VERY FAST so if you couldn’t hear him and looked away for a second you would be left behind. Almost happened to us where the group actually managed to move completely out of view when we realized). The guide walking very fast was also somewhat of an issue, because he would be so far ahead from everyone else then complain about the other people being farther behind. Other than that, it was still nice to see the towns, but I would look for a tour that has better guides and timing. The lack of punctuality was disappointing from a tour that caused the rush later, along with the lack of translation, that made this a disappointing experience.

Good thing it was cheap... - Good thing it was cheap only 35USD, they didn’t start on time. The stops were to sell things. Lots of standing around. They had us pay an additional Q35 per person in Santiago just to ride the tuktuk. I know for a fact we could’ve gotten the tuktuk cheaper for those 4 stops. But it was a money grab IMO. The tour guide said if I don’t want to pay for the tuktuk I can go explore on my own, I paid y’all to take a tour, if I wanted to go on my own I would have done that. The bee stop has lots of bees “they don’t sting but they bite”.
