Highlights

Pick up from centrally located Kusadasi Hotels / Port and Selcuk Hotels approx 8:30am. Pamukkale is located in the province of Denizli. After an exciting and informative drive, we arrive at Pamukkale Natural Park. This natural wonder features terraces and travertine formations created by hot springs and streams depositing carbonate minerals. Pamukkale is renowned for its waters, believed to have healing properties, and has been used as a thermal bath for centuries. Recognized for its unique characteristics, the site was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1988.

Hierapolis was founded in 200 BC by Eumenes II in honor of the Amazon Queen Hiera, wife of Telephos, the founder of Pergamum. Hierapolis is an ancient city that draws global attention for its impressive buildings and monuments. The city lost its Hellenistic appearance due to a series of earthquakes and was rebuilt with Roman architectural influences. During the Byzantine period, Pamukkale became a significant site for Christianity after St. Philip, one of Jesus’ apostles, was martyred there. The city, which came under Turkish rule in the 9th century, still retains its historical value and significance. Attracting thousands of visitors each year for its ancient monuments and natural beauty, Pamukkale is ready to welcome you too!

Amazing beauties of Pamukkale - Our family of six had a private tour from Kusadasi to Pamukkale which was 3 hours away from our resort. The tour guide Fati was wonderful in explaining the history of Turkey and the archeological sites and places that we visited in a 12 hour tour. We had a wonderful time paragliding and walking in the waters of the Travertine at Pamukkale.

Not bad, but wish more springs! - While our guide and the planned outing was wonderful, I think it would be helpful (especially for us American tourists) to provide a full timeline of the day at pick up. You know — it’s going to be 1.5 hours to our coffee break and then another 1.5 hours in the car. We will arrive at pammukale around noon and I will give you a quick overview of the site. you will then have 2.5 hours of free time, before we drive to lunch. Meaning we will eat lunch around 2:30-3 pm. If you need a snack, make sure you grab something at at coffee break. We will eat and then return back to kusadasi around 6:30 pm. Something like that. 😀 I think it would make more sense to move pick ups to 7 am. We waited 20 mins for a family of 4 at their pick up which just delays the whole day. Also not sure Pammukale is worth 400 lira entrance fee given that the pools are quite low. That’s not the tour guides fault, just something to consider before you book a 6 hour car ride. Again, the guide was absolutely wonderful and I appreciated the time we were given at the site and for skipping the “shopping” experience at the end. THANK YOU!

Nice trip to Pamukkale - I went on a trip to visit the famous Pamukkale. Friendly and enthusiastic guide Barb showed up on time and efficiently led the tour. He interestingly talked about the mythical events and gave valuable tips. I highly recommend this place, as well as the travel agency and the pleasant Barb.

Good day trip (long drive) - We had a terrific tour guide she gave us a lot of the history of Turkey while driving on this long 2.5 hour drive. The tour of the ancient city Hieropolis was good (the city has not been excavated as much as Ephesus) but it was still decent. The best part was the theatre! Well worth the trek up the hill in the heat (bring an umbrella!). The hot springs were nice but very crowded and a little rough on the feet with many slippery patches. Didn’t look as good as the pix (tbh)! I didn’t go in the cleopatra pools because there were quite a few people in it and that creeps me out. Would be curious to know if people feel the water was as healing as they say.

Unpleasantly surprised - Very poor to none maintainence, both areas. Who ever has designed the paths, wooden platforms along the calcium formed pools, must not have heard of disabled people on wheelchairs/"cross frame" walking aid. He has designed all to be hurdles. .. On the other hand, the tourguide was well equiped, driver of the van very careful, curtegous person; who made the tour a memorabel one.

Firstly it was 40 degrees... - Firstly it was 40 degrees celcius so too hot to enjoy anything. The guide was great and he offerred to take us around the historical sites with a buggy otherwise we would not have survived the heat. But he told us this was extra to pay...this should have been a must because of the weather
