I understand and admire more now - Our host was passionate, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the subject and also thanked us for taking time to hear the ‘lived’ stories, rather than deferring to Hollywood, which I thought was nice. Although we got to walk to different areas of Palermo, this is not a sight seeing tour. There was a welcome toilet break though (take a euro with you!).

Great way to learn about Sicily and social activism - We learned a lot and our tour guide Linda was as friendly as she was knowledgeable. I would highly recommend it to tourists who want to understand some of the socio political history of Sicily and be equipped to shop in a more socially conscious manner. While the tour is on a serious topic, Linda kept is all engaged and we were able to see many different parts of Sicily as we went along. The time really flew by! While food and drink are not included, we walked through areas with many Addiopizzo restaurants and businesses, so that also helped us decide where to go afterwards.

Not to be missed - Beautiful experience with Francesco, who told us with passion and competence the history of the mafia and explained how each of us can fight it in its own small way

Definitely recommended! - Extremely educational tour! Linda was very passionate about the subject and really set the tour apart from others with tales of her personal experiences. We told people on other sightseeing tours to check out the “No Mafia” tour.

The reality of the Mafia. - Get to know Palermo from a slightly different angle. Watch the Godfather films again, but in the context that you know what the people of Sicily really think of all that 'nonsense'.

Bellissima - The tour was so interesting. Our Guide gave us so many Information. He could talk about own experiences when he had his bakery in the 80s.

Amazing tour in Sicily and must see! - I’ve been on many tours, and honestly, I wasn’t too interested in the mafia topic at first. However, after reading such great reviews, I decided to give it a try. It turned out to be the most fascinating tour I’ve ever taken. I learned so much about mafia culture, which I had assumed no longer existed. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and answered all our questions with kindness. This tour offers a unique perspective on Sicily, not from a typical historical angle, but through the lens of someone living there today and facing modern issues related to the mafia. My husband and I still talk about everything we learned. Thank you for an amazing experience! I would highly recommend this tour if you were in Sicily

Interesting - Interesting but a little too long. It would have been better to have a more concise explanation of some of the facts. Hard to hear the guide due to so much surrounding noise.

Not worth the money - I treated my two friends and I to the tour on Saturday November 2nd, the No Mafia Tour. We were very enthusiastic to hear about the history of the mafia and as well what’s happening now to change the mind set of Palermo in general. On the plus side our tour guide was highly knowledgeable , passionate about the subject and polite. On the flip side what we thought would be a walking tour filled with sites as well as information and insites to help us put the narrate into context it failed in that way. The group found themselves sitting for over 35 minutes in one spot ( over looking a building site ) and not being able to hear very well. The entire group was lost and board. Information was not delivered in a clear way. After that we walked up to the monuments and she spoke about that for a short time and we moved on through the market. The delivery was not the best. Also for the price. I didn’t feel it was worth that amount of money. Very disappointed. For such an interesting subject this needs to hold the persons imagination for 2.5 hours. Also, you will see the review from another lady on our tour, she was equally not happy and posted a review the next day. We happened to bump into her the next day and she shared her thoughts. Also the promise of having a coffee after the tour was only a promise. The tour ended at the cathedral and then disbursed. Not worth the money.
