Enjoyed by all - Although the tour started 15 minutes late, we spent almost 90 mins in the capo market. Selina was a local and it showed. She had the knowledge and the connections. The dielrections for the cooking were accurate and helpful although it’s watch and participate, no one is making their own thing on their own induction like other classes. But everyone is welcome to stir/add/roll pastry etc. everyone makes their own aranchini which were spectacular. Was a great experience all round and enjoyed by all.

Chef with a great personality - Our chef/instructor (Serena Sansone) was full of life, patient, and explained the process thoroughly. The class in our case was intimate (4) and convivial. The meal we prepared turned out delicious and authentic: arancini with ragu filling, penne pasta with a generous tomato-ragu sauce and shaved ricotta, and cannolis.

Fun way to spend the day - We had a wonderful time with Serena during this cooking class and market tour. She is very engaging and knowledgeable. We also enjoyed interacting with other travelers from other places around the world. We ate plenty of good food after we made it, we didn't even need dinner! It was a very enjoyable way to spend the day on our trip to Palermo. I highly recommend it if you are into cooking, like we are!

Good cooking - Serena did a wonderful job, she was very knowledgeable. She brought us through the market place and then back for our class. My daughter and I are anxious to try what we learned back home.

Feel like a pro! - We saw the market through the eyes of our local guide and it made for such a rich understanding of what we were seeing! Our chef, Serena, was fantastic, explaining the chemistry of the cooking processes - I've been cooking for 50 years and I learned a ton from her today! She was so funny and knowledgeable, it was the best time!

Gain confidence in the kitchen and the markets - Perfect excursion for cooks and non cooks alike. Our chef and guide Serena was lovely, super knowledgeable and very personable. The first part was a market tour in a small group that was intimate and educational, and gave some basic knowledge and confidence to navigate the markets solo. What to look for in produce, what are the specialities of the region to look for and take home etc etc. The cooking portion of the class was hands on in all the right places - focusing on techniques and feel, exactly what one might be missing from reading a recipe alone. While the techniques were transferable to cooking everywhere, the seasonality of the pasta dish and learning the history of all the foods made it a worthwhile local endeavor. When in Sicily, cook like it! Great experience, I would recommend to anyone looking to build confidence in the kitchen and in the markets.

5 Star tour and class - This is probably the absolute best class/tour we’ve ever experienced through trip advisor, and the highlight of our visit to Palermo. Serena our chef/guide was knowledgeable, fun and professional. She took us through the local markets to experience the vibe and “street food”! We prepared arroncini, a wonderful cauliflower sauce for our own macaroni and our own cannolis. We had a small class of fun people which made the experience even better, and took home the memory and the recipes. Don’t miss it!

Multo Bene! - Serena was an incredible chef! She made us feel so welcome and was also an excellent teacher! We learned about the history and culture that goes into the foods of Sicily and how to make Arancini, Pasta, and Cannoli! Also there was plenty of vino!

Cooking in Palermo! - Enjoyable experience, the chef was terrific and knowledgeable and the facility was very clean. She took us to one of the really nice markets. I love to cook -- so it was a little less challenging for me - but I think it was really a great confidence booster for my husband. He really caught on and it will be nice to have him participate in our own kitchen! The Pasta norm and cannolis were great, wasn't impressed with the aranicini - something about the bread crumbs was off. But the chef was great!
