Fabulous Antonio’s cooking class - From the moment that I met Antonio I was made to feel welcome. We met at the mercato in Palermo where we discussed the wonderful foods and what we might be cooking that evening. After meeting the other group members we commenced our walk through the mercato where Chef Antonio gave us hints on the best types of fish to buy. We all then left to later meet at a pick up point to head to our cooking class which was being held at Antonio's house. From the moment we entered his house, his family welcomed us and we went outside to the cooking area. From the very start drinks were offered and then we commenced our cooking adventure. We started off by making bruschetta and then we started to clean out some muscles ready to make muscle soup and then linguine with muscles and gamberi. Antonio went through the process of how we clean the muscles and then how we cook them. Then went onto making swordfish stuffed rolls which were coated in pistachio and put on skewers. To say the least it was a feast. Starting with bruschetta, muscle soup and linguine pasta with muscles and gamberi then we had swordfish rolls with salad and to top it off, Antonio made us some beautiful pistachio ice cream. The wine and entertaining conversations flowed throughout the night. Antonio was a gracious and entertaining host. Definitely something that you should do when in Palermo.

Amazing and fun cooking experience! - Chef Antonio's class was amazing! The market tour was informative, and the class was both fun and educational. Chef Antonio injects a wonderful sense of humor with stories and experience on Sicilian culture while teaching cooking techniques that can easily be adapted at home. Highly recommend!

Best culinary experience ever ! - This was by far the best culinary experience I had, it completely exceeded our expectations. Antonio is not only an excellent and experienced Chef, he is a well educated person with thousands experiences to share (not only related to food :P). We started this experience at the Ballaro Market where we bought together all the ingredients for our cooking class, Antonio suggested some tips on how to buy fresh ingredients and to understand the difference between farm fish and wild and natural fish, by only looking! .... After a couple of hours in the market we went to our apartment. In the evening, Salvo (son of Antonio) picked us up for transport to Antonio House where the cooking and main event began. It was a delightful evening where we were cooking together under Antonio´s instructions, sharing moments with his nice Family; his wife, daughter and sister in law participated in the whole process and were so kind to take picture of us as we cooked to document our experience. After cooking, we ate together the best meal we had in our whole trip in Sicily. If you are looking for a cooking experience in Palermo, you really need to do it with Antonio, you will learn not only the secrets and history of the Sicilian cuisine, but will also have the chance to experience first hand the interaction with a very nice Sicilian family.

Incredible and authentic cooking experience - This experience was amazing and irreplaceable, I HIGHLY recommend taking the cooking class with the market visit because you learn so much about picking the highest quality food and see it all come together in an amazing meal. Chef Antonio was an incredible host for many reasons - he was very communicative with meeting places and times, and connects with you on Whatsapp to allow for the fastest communication. He is so knowledgable on Palermo, food, and cooking technique, and is suitable to teach cooking enthusiasts of all levels. He takes you through many different courses - so be sure to save room as you go - while his family takes photos and provides assistance throughout the whole process. To make things even better, the class takes place in a beautiful outdoor kitchen! Overall, we felt extremely welcomed, learned so much, and created a great friendship with Chef Antonio and his whole family! 10/10 would recommend.
