- DMZ - Before we go into DMZ area and do ID Check, will look through 3 stops - Brdige of freedom, Mangbaedan Altar, Steam locomotive destroyed during Korean war in Imjingak Park. Imjingak was built in 1972 for the benefit of displaced North Koreans. It is at the end of National Road No. 1, which civilians can access.

Well organized! Mr.... - Well organized! Mr. Tiger, the guide, was well preparared with an excellent ENGLISH! He explained in a very detailed way an important part of modern history of Korea (as well as the old history)

The best hands on history lesson from an amazing guide - I swear I lucked out as my tour guide, SJ, was not only retired South Korean military but was also a history major. The amount of detail he went into about the history and culture made feel immersed as if you were in that exact time period. I have so many great things to say about SJ and the over all experience you will just have to see it yourself. Dont miss out! Not sure if there is a way to request SJ with PLK Travel through Viator as thats how I booked it. He is THE BEST!!

Fantastic Trip to the DMZ - This was an awesome experience. My brother and I booked very last minute. We had Micky as our tour guide and it was a very enjoyable and informative time. He is very knowledgeable about the area and its history. We went on an extremely hot and humid day (during an extreme heat wave) and Micky helped us stay cool and hydrated. He had extra sun umbrellas that we borrowed because we didn’t have one.
I highly recommend this tour. This was a highlight of our trip

A Must Do!!!! - This was hands down one of the best experiences of my life. Our guide, Tiger was absolutely phenomenal! What a wealth of information! He answered all of our many questions with patience and such clear explainations. He knew his way around, was extremely accommodating, and made our day so special. He truly wanted us to have an exceptional, memorable experience. He was so prepared with a digital screen with visual aids to explain the history and geography so we understood everything clearly and knew what we were looking at. He even had binoculars for us! He had such a great disposition, and a passion to share Korea’s history. I would 100% recommend this experience!

Ask for SJ @ PLK Travel…Amazing! - Oh my gosh…highly recommend taking the private tour and using SJ and PLK Travel to see the @DMZ. First…request SJ, he is fantastic and knows the history of the country well from many different angles. He served in the Korean Army for 13 years and brings a wealth of experience from his time in the service. He was great and accommodating and spent more time with us than we signed up for. So helpful, prepared and kind. Highly recommend him and ask for him by name!!!! Great job!

- I went with PLK based on the reviews as we wanted a private tour due to having a 2 1/2 yr. Old with us. We were lucky and had Tiger as our guide. He was extremely knowledgeable and very detailed. This tour was everything we were looking for. Mahalo Tiger!

Joseph was an excellent... - Joseph was an excellent guide. He was very knowledgeable, patient with all of our questions, and flexible. He also knew the best places to go to beat the crowds. Some things to know before you book:
1. The tunnel part requires helmets as there will be a lot of bending and squatting to avoid hitting your head if you’re over 5ft tall (you can still see a lot if you don’t want to do that part). It’s also a steep slope.
2. You will need to exit the car you came in with your guide to get on the bus with another group as the DMZ zone has minimum requirements of people per bus but you will still have your private guide with you & will break away from the big group for your own personal tour.
3. Your passport is required multiple times but no stamp will be given.
4. What’s App is the perfect format for communicating and our awesome guide even sent us great pictures he took of us.
5. The suspension bridge is beautiful but has a lot of stairs and steep hills to get to. It is about a 15 minute hike to get there from the parking lot and about a 45 minute drive from the DMZ zone.
All that being said, it was well worth the money and a very interesting experience.

We had a wonderful day... - We had a wonderful day touring the DMZ. Marie was wonderful guide, mindful of the very warm temperatures that day, but keeping us on track to see all of the highlights.
