- The “Hole in the Rock” section of the tour is weather dependent. If conditions are not suitable to travel to The Hole in the Rock, an alternative route within the sheltered inner islands will be used.

Trip to the hole rocked... - Had a great trip out to the Hole in the Rock. Travelling with 3 chn who were entertained throughout the voyage through great views, interesting commentary. As well as plenty of wildlife including penguins, seals, dolphins along with an array of sea birds and fish.
Vessel was spotless and comfortable with friendly and knowledgeable crew. Weather was good and sea calm. Highly recommend this local company to take you out there you won't be disappointed.

Breathtakingly Beautiful - Hubby and I thoroughly enjoyed our time traversing the hole in the rock. The crew were a delight and the experience one to remember.

Amazing experience - We had such an amazing day on the boat!! The hole in the rock is breathtaking and the weather conditions allowed us to not only drive through the hole in the rock but also into a cave which was soo cool! Our guides were kind, experienced, funny and made us feel safe what made the whole experience even better!
We also very much enjoyed the island stopover at Urupukapuka! You can either go for a short walk up the hill for a stunning view or go for a swim in the clear water or just chill by the Cafe/Restaurant in a beanbag. It’s up to you!
Definitely a must do if you’re in the bay of islands! I would a 100% recommend this to anyone!! We had so much fun!

Hole in the Rock - Massive thank you to the team at Island Getaway! Would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to see the beautiful islands we have here in the Bay! Staff were incredible, stopping along the way for us to take pictures! Best part was definitely seeing inside Cathedral cave, next to the hole in the rock! Once again a massive thank you to you guys at Island Getaway, would 100% do it again!

Great boat trip. - Fantastic day trip to the hole in the rock. Excellent commentary from the captain and crew. Unfortunately it was a bit too rough to sail through the hole but safety must come first. The stopover on the island was really lovely. You can buy lunch and drinks there and enjoy a walk up the hill where there are amazing views of the harbour and islands. I would highly recommend this trip and hope that many people take the opportunity to go on the boat cruise, esp while we don't have overseas visitors. You won't be disappointed.

Great day out on the water - A long boat ride out to the hole in the rock on a windy day with a fair swell challenges our stomachs, but the hole in the rock is something to see. The journey back (going with the swell) was much easier, and a couple of stops made it a much more pleasurable tour. We enjoyed learning about local history, and the island stopover where several of the tour group swam in the beautiful lagoon (too cold for us). The crew were attentive and fun.
