The park is located 30 km west Anuradhapura and located 26 km north of Puttalam (approximately 180 km north of Colombo). The park is 1,317 square kilometers (131, 693 hectares) and ranges from 0 to 152 meters above sea level. Nearly one hundred and six lakes (Willu) and tanks are found spread throughout Wilpattu. Wilpattu is the largest and one of the oldest National Parks in Sri Lanka. Wilpattu is among the top national parks world-renowned for its leopard (Panthera pardus kotiya) population. A remote camera survey was conducted in Wilpattu from July to October 2015 by the Wilderness & Wildlife Conservation Trust.

Wilpattu is the largest and one of the oldest National Parks in Sri Lanka. Wilpattu is among the top national parks world-renowned for its leopard (Panthera pardus kotiya) population. A remote camera survey was conducted in Wilpattu from July to October 2015 by the Wilderness & Wildlife Conservation Trust. A sample of forty nine individual leopards were photo-captured in the surveyed area and the core area density was between that of Yala National Park’s Block I and Horton Plains National Park.

Was fun, would repeat - Driver was enthusiastic and friendly. We had the jeep just for ourselves. We didn't see many elephants, but the driver spotted many other different animals, like a bear mama and her cub.

Beautiful wilpattu - Very good for seeing animals in the wild.. We got an excellent guide.. Communication was very clear. We had a lot of fun and an unforgettable day.. Great company.. 10/10 recommended.

Wild safari to remember - Fine organized with pick-up from our hotel. Five hours in the park gives a good impression. Specially arranged a truck where the seven of us could enter. Nice surroundings. Seen a lot of birds and smaller animals but unfortunately not big game that was well looked for. Would definitely use this club again.

Wild life watching safari in Wilpattu - It was fantastic as we saw a bear, two leopards. Deer.and all the animals we wanted to see.the driver Pasindu was so keen to show us different parts of the jungle.super excited.thank you Travceylon Leisure for making unforgettable safari.

Amazing safari!!! - We went to Wilpattu National Park for a safari and had an amazing experience! We met our jeep driver at the gate and were promptly on our way. We were provided with bottled water and king coconuts at the rest stop. We saw so many animals and birds despite taking the afternoon tour. And lucky us!!! We saw two leopards and a bear sloth!! We highly recommend this tour.

Unique experience at Wilpattu - The safari tour was amazing! We had an experienced and very polite driver who showed us the best parts of the safari! We did not see a leopard (due to time- it is suggested to have the safari in the morning) but we managed to see almost every other animal! Would totally recommend, the nature is like paradise here!

Wilpattu safari - Our guide was amazing!!! He was a very safe driver who really knew what he was doing and gave us a a full off roading experience along with the experience of the safari and seeing all the animals. We were very fortunate to see leopards as well as lots of other animals. We would highly recommend booking this tour!

Safari 1st timers! - My husband and I embarked on our first safari in Sri Lanka. It was well worth the experience. We saw a lot of animals, but the highlight was catching a glimpse of 2 leopards. They were hiding behind some trees but you could distinctly see them. We saw a bear, lots of deer, peacock, turtle, warthog, birds, a fox and a monkey. I do recommend, but please note it is a bumpy ride so mentally prepare for that.
The company was awesome to work with! It’s family friendly as well.

We saw almost nothing - Unfortunately it was bad experience.
We didn’t see a lot of animals, just a jew deers, monkeys, couple of foxes and eagle what is not a reason to go that far away.
Beside that our guides were useless: that didn’t speak english, didn’t explain anything about the nature, didn’t get the water for us, and buy 3 entrance tickets instead of 4.
So we just spent 4 hours shaking in the dusty car. My boyfriend were sleeping cause it was boring and nothing to see.
We didn’t get any compensation from this guys, only apologies.
