Exciting. - Fantastic Mario. Exciting transport and the simplicity with which it brought us back to the great emotions experienced between school desks, between Greeks and Romans... up to our times. Experience that I greatly underestimated: definitely to be redone.

Best 2 hours in Italy so far - Our guide was extremely knowledgable, was able to transfer that knowledge to a small group of genuinely interested travellers today. The site is amazing, and she brought it to life for us.

An interesting and insightful tour - My wife and I enjoyed this trip immensely and I would like to give a lot of praise to our Askos Tour Guide - Mario - who made the whole experience a positive one. He was extremely knowledgeable and spoke clearly, ensuring that we learnt a lot about the history of the site and the importance and relevance of the structures. Make sure that you go to the correct location for the meeting point - we initially went to the entrance to the site, but the meeting point is actually a few minutes walk away at Basilica Paleocristiana dellAnnunziata, in Piazza Della Basilica. The site is about a 10 minute walk from Paestum train station, just cross the road when you exit the station and keep walking. There did not seem to be a lot else to do in Paestum, but it is worth spending some time in the museum to add some context to the ruins.

Worthwhile trip - We didn’t get to see the ancient temples when we were in Greece, so it was really special to be able to see them in Italy knowing that this might be our last chance. I think the site it definitely worth visiting. The tour was good but the guide walked very fast and sometimes started explaining things before the whole group got to where she stopped. There was a larger group of about 14 and we didn’t have headsets so it was difficult to hear a lot of the tour guide’s statements.

Last Minute Cancellation - Received a text 24 hours prior to our scheduled tour letting us know that they were cancelling, but we could upgrade to the private tour for a 'supplement'. After going back and forth via text, we settled on just getting a refund because we weren't going to pay $130 more per person (price difference on the website). When we requested the refund, we were told to go into our own reservation and cancel it because that would be 'easier' for us. Ridiculous. It should be noted that at the time we received the cancellation text you could still go online and book that exact tour on the website which was odd. I see based on other reviews that this is not the first time this tour has cancelled on people the day prior. They refuted the prior complaint stating that reviews should only be written for services rendered and a cancelled trip did not warrant a poor review. I think other travelers should be aware of the practice and short notice cancellations rightfully fall under the umbrella of expected service when booking a trip.
