This is the ground floor of the Palazzo della Ragione (Justice Palace) in the heart of Padova, built in the Middle Ages, which hosts a variety of stores offering typical local products. We’ll also explore the open market with its various fruit and vegetable stalls.

I am Catia, your host. Together, we will explore Venetian traditional food through my family recipes and its history. We will visit our historical market, one of the oldest in Europe. I will share the history of the market, and you will see the vibrant stalls filled with fruits, vegetables, and spices. After that, we will go to my house and make pasta from scratch—the traditional “Bigoli” made with an ancient press called the “Bigolaro,” invented in the 1600s. You will be welcomed with our Venetian appetizer, Cicchetti, and at the end, you will create our famous dessert, Tiramisù, which originated in my region!
