Grisly, graphic tour with a fantastic guide - Ella was SUCH a great guide. It will be a long time before I forget her account of the civil war prisoners’ ordeal in the tower… A grisly, graphic tour: our kids were hanging off her every word.

Time well spent - Went to this attraction today, our guide Natalia, was knowledgeable and gave plenty of time for the group to take everything in. Lots of fascinating information about the history of the castle and when it was used as a prison.

Amazing - Visiting Oxford's Castle and Prison was a memorable experience. The staff were very kind and accommodating, as they graciously changed our tour to an earlier time slot right at the reception, which made everything much more convenient. The tour itself, led by Raven, was fantastic—engaging, informative, and full of interesting stories that brought the history of the castle and prison to life. Overall, it was a wonderful visit with excellent service and a truly captivating guide.

Very interesting & good value for your money - Four of us were staying at the adjacent Malmaison hotel so it was a 'No brainer' NOT to have a guided tour of the castle & Prison. We found it to be very good value (discounted if staying at the Malmaison), fabulously informative & entertaining with our guide Rory & a must do when visiting Oxford. Once the tour is over(about 45mins) you are still free to explore further on your own & there is some very interesting stories to be found on life in the both the castle & the prison.
