Great day at starved rock with our dog - Brought our dog and had a blast exploring starved rock. Saw eagles and cool cliffs with a waterfall. The tandem kayak was perfect for both of us plus our dog

Awesome family experience. - Rich and Dave were our tour guides. They were awesome! Rich lead us to a Beautiful location with jokes along the way! Dave was kind enough to take our family photo and make sure we all arrived safely back to shore! We highly recommend this especially for a family!

Enjoyable Tandem kayak tour - Great time taking a tandem kayak tour with Rich and Bailey as our guides. They kept us safe, laughing and no one tipped over! It was a beautiful tour on the Illinois River at Starved Rock.

Tandem guided tour ottawa IL - Jordan was a great tour guide, personable and friendly. The tour was relaxing, taking our time to enjoy the views. We went to bluff canyon, not starved rock. Basically just seeing sandstone walls along shore of the illinois river. hadn’t been kayaking before. Next time I will wear swim shorts and bring a towel as my shorts got very wet, mostly from the dripping of the paddle. I’d wear a hat too as the sun was beating down on us. Overall it was a nice experience.

Not worth the many hassles. - The customer service here is below average to bad. Once you are on the water it is just ... meh. Be prepared to get muddy especially if you are in the back. The water they say is "like this all the time due to the dams" It is very shallow and you dip your blade in the water and you easily through mud on the person in the back. The guide we had was simply rude and offensive; he did try to apologize. Visited their website a number of times to make reservations. Their site needs to be redesigned to be more visitor friendly. This was my first visit to the area and to the website. I could not navigate the site easily. So I then tried to call and had to leave a message. A woman eventually called me back and I had finally gotten to the schedule. She was insisting that they were full. I was most of the way through to credit card payment for half of the party when she said just try it. So then I tried for the other half and I asked should I make a second reservation if you are sure you are full or just show up. Just show up folks. I ended completing a second rez spending over $100. And once there, could not get a refund. Just a credit if I showed up again. Just not worth the hassle. The guide was so rude putting people into a kayak, taking them out pushing them around. Too much. Don't go. If you have your own kayak you can put in at their location for $10 each. Do that.
