A very frosty day in a very interesting little seaside town - Our guide, Kate was very informative and knew the best places to take us as we visited during winter. It was very cold, windy and icy, but she managed to get us around safely.

Wonderful Otaru Private Tour with Akiko! - Akiko was an absolute gem! From the moment I booked, she was incredibly communicative and ensured I saw all the key sights I was interested in. The highlight was definitely the unexpected seafood lunch. Akiko seamlessly adjusted the tour to include a delicious feast of king crab and horsehair crab, which was an unforgettable experience. Beyond the incredible food, Akiko was a fantastic guide. She shared fascinating insights into Hokkaido and Japanese culture, making the tour both informative and entertaining. I particularly enjoyed our visit to the sake brewery, where Akiko expertly explained the intricate process of sake making. It was fascinating to see the brewery in action. The Canal was also breathtaking, especially with the fresh snow dusting the old warehouses. Akiko was so down-to-earth and understanding when I was a little too ambitious with the food! I was eager to try the sea urchin, but I simply couldn't fit another full plate. Akiko kindly offered me some of her own, which was incredibly generous and delicious. I highly recommend this tour with Akiko. She's knowledgeable, friendly, and goes the extra mile to make your experience truly special.

Enjoyable day trip with a fantastic guide - Had a good outing with Michiko! She is a fantastic guide. Appreciate all her efforts and help! Her guidance and arrangement in getting us back to Sapporo station after our train from Otaru was cancelled due to some fatal incident was most helpful.

Interesting, Informative and Tasty - Well planned and informative . Katsuki Kemanai was a delightful tour guide. She shared her knowledge of the history and culture of Otaru in an interesting and wide ranging tour that covered history of herring fishing and the wealth it brought, a tasting at a sake brewery, leading our group to a sushi lunch, a visit to the Herring Palace.

Most enthusiastic guide ever - Our guide, Roy-san, were an absolute expert in every Japanese thing, from history, culture, religion, to cuisine. My mom and I enjoyed talking to him on the way, asking questions about basically everything we hadn't yet understood. Because of his expertise and enthusiasm, I'm even more certain about exploring Buddhism and Shintoism in my sophomore year. The fact that Roy-san have worked in many areas (as a city official for example) also added to the experience. The whole day, we almost thought we walked with an inspector checking through the cities, as Roy-san showed us so many beautiful details (plants, foods, sights) and he basically knew what they were the moment we saw them.
