20-15 Kitaminemachi - The lesson begins with a brief presentation on the cultural importance of mochi and its traditions. You’ll then learn to make mochi using glutinous rice flour.
Using the mochi, you’ll create strawberry Daifuku (or Pineapple/Kiwi when strawberries are out of season) and Dango (mochi balls on skewers), along with two types of “Nerikiri wagashi”—traditional Japanese sweets.
You’ll be taught how to shape the dough into seasonal motifs. The dough is pre-made and colored, but you’ll have access to a tutorial video.
After the lesson, you can enjoy your creations with a bowl of matcha green tea, which you’ll prepare with my guidance, or take them home in a special box.
Made entirely from plant-based ingredients, this class is suitable for vegetarians, with vegan options available.
A downloadable recipe is accessible via a QR code, so you can recreate the treats at home!
