The journey begins in central Oslo. Travelers will take metro line 4/5 to Nydalen Station, then transfer to a bus that leads to the forest’s edge at Solemskogen. The entire trip to the trailhead takes about 30 minutes, and then the adventure begins!
Lillomarka, situated in the northern part of Oslo, Norway, is a serene forest area celebrated for its natural beauty and easy access. As a segment of the larger Nordmarka region, it provides a peaceful escape with lush forests, tranquil lakes, and diverse wildlife, all conveniently close to the city center. The area boasts numerous trails for hiking, cycling, and cross-country skiing, making it a year-round haven for outdoor enthusiasts.
- Lillomarka Wilderness Area - The journey through this stunning forest includes passing by small lakes, listening to birdsong, and keeping an eye out for trolls (a nod to Norwegian folklore!).
