Highlights
  • Oshino Hakkai - Oshino Hakkai are the eight springs found in Oshino, Yamanashi, Japan. The aquifer water from Mount Fuji comes out to the ground to form these springs. They are a Natural monument of Japan, part of the Mount Fuji World Heritage Site, and one of Yamanashi Prefecture’s important tourist attractions.

  • Chureito Pagoda - The five-storied Chureito Pagoda in Yamanashi Prefecture is a key part of Japan’s most recognizable landscape—the area around Mount Fuji. It honors those lost from the First Sino-Japanese War in 1868 all the way to WWII. Today, the pagoda stands proudly as the centerpiece for Arakura Sengen Shrine.

  • Lake Kawaguchiko - Lake Kawaguchiko is the most easily accessible of the Fuji Five Lakes with train and direct bus connections to Tokyo. A hot spring resort town with various tourist attractions and views of Mount Fuji is located around the lake’s eastern end, while the northern and western shores are mostly undeveloped.

  • Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway - The Mount Fuji Panoramic Ropeway ascends 400 meters from the eastern shore of Lake Kawaguchiko to an observation deck near the peak of Mount Tenjo. From the observation deck, which sits more than 1000 meters above sea level, there are panoramic views of the lake below and of Mount Fuji.

  • Oishi Park - Oishi Park is one of the best spots to view Mt Fuji. The view from Oishi Park consists of Mt Fuji in the background, Kawaguchiko (Lake) in the mid ground and the lavender of Oishi Park in the foreground. The lavender blooms from the middle of June to the middle of July, which it means it is unlikely that Mt Fuji will have a snow cap.

  • Saiko Iyashi no Sato Nemba - Wander around this charming village and go back in time, exploring a replica of an old Japanese village. This is definitely one of the top attractions in the Fujikawaguchiko region. Lovely thatched roofed buildings stand facing Mount Fuji, these have been rebuilt with great attention to details after the village was destroyed by a landslide during a typhoon in the late sixties.

  • Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine - People visit the shrine to ward off evil, to pray for family happiness, and safe childbirth. In the spring, the cherry blossom trees bloom and crowds gather to enjoy the stunning view of Mt. Fuji.

  • Mt. Fuji 5th Station - Mt. Fuji attracts hikers and climbers from the world over, and most of them start their ascents at the 5th station, halfway up the mountain. You can have an amazing experience the atmosphere of this symbol of Japan, you can climb or drive to Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station for spectacular views.

Note: If you would like to visit this attraction then Gotemba Premium Outlets will be excluded from the itinerary due to time constraint.

  • Gotemba Premium Outlets - The Gotemba Premium Outlets is an outlet mall located in Gotemba, Shizuoka, Japan, near Mount Fuji. It was opened on July 13, 2000, and contains over 200 stores. The mall is managed by Mitsubishi Estate Simon Co., Ltd., a joint venture between Mitsubishi Estate and Simon Property Group.
Note: If you would like to visit this attraction then Mt. Fuji 5th Station will be excluded from the itinerary due to time constraint.

Great tour from Tokyo - Views of Mt. Fuji from the Pagoda and visiting one of the Temples off the beaten path and not on the your itinerary. That made up for the closure of the 5th Station at Mt. Fuji. David was very personable and accommodating.

Go with another outfit. - Great to see Fuji and go to the 5th station. And while our driver David did get us from our hotel to the mountain, he was clearly inexperienced and lacked the interpersonal skills that most drivers/guides I’ve personally experienced in the past possessed. From his incessant complaints about his domestic situation to his choice of lunch destination (cheap and low quality spot)– he lacks the professionalism and competence of a true professional tour driver. I chose this tour, which cost a little more than many others, thinking it would be of higher quality or comfort, but that certainly was not the case. Average at best, and at times bizarre.

Disinterested driver who spoke barely any English. Mount Fuji was amazing! - This is the tour to do to ensure you hit the best viewing locations for Mount Fuji in comfort. Good shoes are needed and don't forget a sunhat! We also saw lots of birds of prey. Clearly some people are blessed with a fabulous driver, we were not. Having had some very terse WhatsApps about ensuring we're ready on time the evening before, the driver was late due to an accident. Fair enough, he also went to the wrong hotel... So he was an hour late picking us up. At each site the driver walked ahead, no chatting and no information, thank goodness for Google! Then at one location we got a WhatsApp asking why we were not down from the viewing platform! The driver was very tight about our return time, despite his lateness... And on the way back was watching videos on his phone while driving. To cap it off he then tried to return us to the wrong hotel, blaming me for booking a hotel in the same chain. So be warned, comfort and views great. Drivers not always what is promised.
