Great experience! - Great way to experience the vibrant street food life of Osaka. Our guide made sure to ask questions about what we like and what we don’t to give us a more personalized experience.

Great Time and Food Tour with Hiro in Osaka - We did the Osaka Local Food Walking Tour with Hiroko on Dec 28, 2024 with our two kids ages 10 and 13. Hiro was an excellent guide knowing the hidden gems and special food vendors in Osaka that we would have never found under our own planning. The tour started with a traditional bakery and sweet shop, so the kids were engaged from the start, with the more savory samples towards the middle. There was also the opportunity to shop for some take-homes and gifts in addition to the food and samples that were included in the tour price, so we were able to check off some of the gift list of people we needed to shop for. Hiro also took pictures of our family and sent them afterwards, which was very nice, because it’s rare that we get a photo with all 4 of us since one of us is usually the photographer. Overall the tour was a yummy and fun cultural experience. One pro-tip. There is a short subway ride from one area to another so make sure everyone in your group has an IC/Suica card ready.

Excellent well rounded (and yummy!) tour - Our family of 5 had a great time with Jimmy! He took us to many hidden gems that we never would have found on our own, and toured us through Shinsekai and then up to Dotonbori. He shared lots of interesting information about Osaka and Japanese culture. He is wonderful tour guide and I highly recommend him!

The Best Walking Food Tour of Osaka - This tour was more than I could have ever imagined. First of all, our guide, Hiro, was amazing. She made us feel so comfortable, spoke great English, and supported all of our intentions. My wife has a severe, anaphylactic food allergy. So safety is our number one concern. Hiro went above and beyond speaking to every store owner to check for the potential allergen. We felt comfortable eating the food knowing it was safe. The food tour took us through old streets where the locals tend to spend more of their time. Stopping and getting food all along the way, and explaining about each food. Then we continued through the newer areas ending up in the bustle of Dotonbori. If you’re wondering if you’ll eat a lot of food, the answer is a clear yes. As someone who loves food and probably eats more than I need to, I was worried it wouldn’t be much. But we ate sushi, takoyaki, pork buns, croquettes, candied strawberries, udon noodles, seaweed candy, teriyaki chicken sticks, bean curd, fish cakes and more. It was a lot of food!! If you’re looking for a food tour, this is THE tour to go on.

Osaka walking food tour! - Hiro was such a fantastic tour guide!! She met us right at the train station and for the entire three hours filled our day with great food, great sights, and great insight into Osaka’s history and culture! She put lots of effort into making the tour very personal for us and showed off food ranging from local snack favorites to delicious meals and drinks. Even after the tour, Hiro’s hospitality did not stop, offering up recommendations for the rest of our time in Osaka and Kyoto. 5 stars and the highest recommendation to anyone considering!!

Best way to start your visit to Osaka - This tour was even better than we imagined it would be. It was our first visit to Japan, and it can be overwhelming to find your way in these big cities. The tour was designed to show us some local hotspots, giving us an anchor to help explore on our own later. The food selection was exactly what we wanted. Instead of tourist traps, we visited long time establishments and tried food that locals eat, or had cultural significance. Everything we tasted was delicious!! Our tour guide, Hiro, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Her English is excellent and she had answers to all of our questions about the area, the food, and the history of Osaka. Even after the conclusion of the tour, she continued to guide us with restaurant and shopping recommendations- even going so far as to find and reserve us a high end sushi dinner. Highly, highly recommend this tour, especially if it's your first time to Osaka.

A good morning food tour - Our guide, Shunji Matsumoto, was very personable. He introduced us to neighborhoods and foods that we wouldn’t have found on our own. He did a good job of asking us about various foods in order to determine whether we would like things that he had in mind for us to sample.
