Don't miss THIS tour! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - This was an exceptional tour, and exactly what I was looking for! Our guide Joseph, took us to parts of Osaka I wouldn't have found on my own, explaining the unspoken underbelly, of Osaka and what is swept under the carpet: the sex workers, the homeless. He was engaging, knowledgeable, and while you might "think dark underbelly" it was 100% safe. This was this side of Japan I wanted to know more about but no one talks about. Put this tour at the TOP of your list!

Excellent walking tour!! - Insightful walking tour addressing the underbelly of Japan/Osakan life, and touched upon religion, mental health, sex work, and gangs, in addition to all of the wonderful things Japan has to offer. Our tour guide, Thomi, was a wealth of information, and shared it in an engaging, thoughtful and interesting way. This was one of the best walking tours I've ever done - HIGHLY recommended!!

Dark, Gritty, but very safe, and informative tour - This was exactly what I hoped for. After seeing a lot of the touristy parts, it was very interesting to learn about the grittier areas and more about the history. Mari was wonderful and explained everything very well and was very patient to answer any and all questions. I knew a fair amount about the history with the "gentlemen" and about gambling but it was still very interesting. And i learned a lot about the unhoused population and abandoned homes. As a solo traveler, I also greatly enjoyed meeting the others in my group and mingling with people from all over. I think walking through the Red Light Distict actually helped everyone bond lol And after the tour, I had the dinner option. The Motsunabe and yakitori were AMAZING! Thank you, Mari for a wonderful your! And I will definitely be recommending it to anyone i know visiting Osaka!

Get to know Japan with a friend - A tour that gave us a fantastic insight in Japanese society through Tommy's passionate, respectful and knowledgeable guide. The rain added to the atmosphere. It felt almost like spending time with a good friend introducing us to Japan.

Discovering Osaka’s Hidden Side with Knox - The Deep Backstreet Osaka Tour (Option to add Dinner) was a fantastic experience! Everything was very well organized, with clear communication via WhatsApp about the meeting point and details. Our guide, Knox, was enthusiastic, energetic, and an excellent communicator — he really brought Osaka’s hidden stories to life. It was fascinating to explore the less touristy areas and learn about the city’s social history and “B-side.” Overall, it’s an excellent tour and absolutely worth it!
(Note: the dinner option isn’t really value for money.)

So worth it!!! - This walking tour was the most informative thing we did in Japan and helped us get way more perspective on the culture than others focused only on history or major sight seeing. We appreciate Osaka much more now! And got some amazing food recs from our guide Knox too.

Amazing tour - Mari was such a lovely guide and the tour was very very interesting, one of the best i had in osaka
There is so much beyond dotonbori and this tour really showcase aspects of the city you wouldn't know otherwise

Walk the backalleys of Osaka - Very interesting experience , charming osaka with an experienced guide. Was quite the adventure (completely safe). It was raining but the guide did everything so that we have a wonderful experience.
