AMAZING Experience - We had the BEST day! Visiting Orvieto and Assisi was a great experience. Both lovely towns. Just wish we had more time to wander through them. The lunch we had was also wonderful, and our tour guide and bus driver were the loveliest people. Kind, friendly, patient and very knowledgeable. This tour was one of the highlights of our holiday.

Orvieto and Assisi - A very peaceful, scenic tour with views of the Italian countryside. Our guide Manuel was wonderful! He shared lot of information along the way about the area and its history. We first stopped at the quaint town of Orvieto, where we saw the basilica that had the exposition of the Holy Corporal and enjoyed some free time in the town. The tour included a lovely lunch at a local restaurant between Orvieto and Assisi. At Assisi another guide Catherina took us first to the church and tomb of St.Claire, then a walk through the town of Assisi viewing important landmarks while listening to her narration of some of it's history, stories from lives of St.Claire, blessed Carlo Acutis, and St.Francis. We saw the remains of blessed Carlo Acutis inside the church of Santa Maria Maggiore. Lastly we visited St.Francis's basilica and the holy tomb of Saint Francis. Catherina did a great job summarizing it all in the time we had there. In my opinion it would have been better to have a little more time in Assisi by cutting short time spent at Orvieto. Drive back to Rome was a relaxing one!

Great tour - Every thing was great, especially our guide, Manu, and driver. The only reason I didn’t give a five is because I would have liked some more free time in Assisi. I don’t know if that’s possible; it was already a long day.

Beware: No air conditioning in the transportation bus. - The experience was great and well worth the money. It was well organized and the guided tours were good. HOWEVER, THE BUS DID NOT HAVE AIR CONDITIONING in Italy's blistering summer heat. There was a bit of cold air at the front, but the rest of the bus was scortching. I said so to the guide, but "nothing could be done". So we spent 1:30 going to Orvieto feeling sick and 2:00 back from Assisi to Rome feeling like we were going to die and be sick. Not a pleasant experience.

Long and hot - Our first guide was friendly and helpful. The guide in Assisi was difficult to understand, spent a lot of time visiting with her friends on the street and hard to follow through the narrow streets. Our van was not air conditioned on a very hot day. The ride was miserable.

This could have been a... - This could have been a five star experience, but the layout of this trip is confusing. Orvieto was wonderful, as was Assisi. However, the “lunch” that’s included is a very strange venue with a fixed meal in which we were the only patrons. If you have any alternate dietary needs, you aren’t going to get a good meal. It added probably an extra 60-90 mins to our day and that’s time that I would’ve greatly preferred being spent in the locations I actually wanted to see. The walking tour in Assisi starts with us being walked through all the parts of town with interesting shops and sights, and by the time we are given free time to enjoy, it’s the very end, down by the parking lot, where there is not really anything to enjoy. This would have been five stars if the assigned terrible lunch was skipped in favor of us having lunch in Assisi or at least free time at the beginning to explore. Instead, I feel like I sat on a bus for half the day to be rushed past anything I wanted to do. The tour guides were knowedgable and the bus was comfortable and had good AC in the heat so 3 stars for that.
