- Altindere Vadisi National Park - Our first stop will be the Sumela Monastery, which is located within the Altindere National Park, and it will take approximately an enjoyable one-hour journey to reach there. We will reach the monastery by walking along the 300-meter-long forest path, which can be reached by shared taxis within the National Park….

We will reach the monastery by walking along the 300-meter-long forest path, which can be reached by shared taxis within the National Park. Before arriving at the monastery, you can visit St. Barbara Chapel, where you can see the magnificent view of the Sumela Monastery.
- Sumela Monastery - When we arrive at the Sumela Monastery, you will be greeted by the historic aqueducts, stone stairs, and social area created for visitors. Before entering the monastery, you can enjoy a few minutes of the surrounding nature and scenery.
As soon as you pass the entrance gate, which is reached by stone stairs, the monastery complex will be in front of your eyes with all its beauty. At the end of your visit to the monastery, which includes the main rock church, chapels, student rooms, library, guesthouse, holy spring, and many more sections, we will meet with the group leader and return by the same path.
- Zigana - On our return journey, we will first reach our tour vehicle through the forest path and then the national park service, and continue our journey to visit the Zigana Pass. Zigana, one of the most important passes of the historic Silk Road, is a place where many famous travelers, including Marco Polo, have traveled. After seeing the pass at an altitude of 2050 meters above sea level, we will move to Hamsikoy.
- Hamsikoy - We will take a lunch break in Hamsikoy, which is famous for its natural beauty and rice pudding. After visiting Sumela, Zigana, and Hamsikoy, our tour will end in Trabzon, and we will depart, hoping to see you again on our next tour.

Outstanding tour of an unforgettable place. - This tour will get my top rating for many reasons. The guide is extremely well informed and communicates professionally in multiple languages. In addition, she is personable, intelligent and interested in the people on the tour. The vehicle is a new Mercedes sprinter type van kept in meticulous condition and the driver is excellent. The tour was well paced, with short stops along the way to avoid fatigue or nausea from mountain driving. One of the best tours I’ve had.

So much fun!! - This was the best day ever!
Our tour guide was so sweet, kind and knowledgeable, our driver was such a kind man with a great smile and sense of humor.
Our tour had 7 total participants and I had a great time meeting new folks from all over the world. We had so many fun memories and laughs together!
We had the right amount of time for each stop and there were even some cool surprises along the way (I won't spoil them!)
Zenofon tours is the absolute best and I've already signed up for another tour with them. Bless!!

I recently took a tour of... - I recently took a tour of Sumela Monastery with my friend Daisy, and it was truly a memorable experience! From the start, our driver Hussain made us feel welcome with his friendly personality, while our guide Şamel (I hope I have spelt this correctly) kept us entertained with fun stories and historical insights that brought the journey to life.
Not only did we learn so much about the history of the stunning Sumela Monastery, but Şamel also filled us in on the rich culture of the beautiful Hamsiköy village, making us appreciate the area even more. The scenic drive through Zigana was another highlight – the breathtaking views were unforgettable, and it was fun dancing to the Arabic music to stay warm on top of the mountain!
If you’re considering this tour, don’t hesitate – it’s a such a great experience!

Highly recommended! - We had an amazing tour with Şamil as our guide. He explained everything perfectly and made the experience enjoyable and informative. The places we visited were absolutely beautiful, and our driver, Hüseyin, was very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend!

Amazing trip - We made an amazing trip with the Zenofon Travel. Our guide Şamil and our driver Husein were great. Şamil a very funny and intelligent guide, he told us many interesting informations. The places what we visited were incredible.

Beautiful Views - I really enjoyed both the tours. The tours were well organized and the experience was wonderful. Şamil was very informative, friendly, and made the experience collaborative. Ismail was very polite and a safe driver. I would highly recommend this experience.

Panagia Sumela, Zigana, Hamsiköy, Sutlac experience - The journey was an incredible tour through the Holy Agia Barbara church and Panagia Soumela Monastery. It’s a pilgrimage I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to be immersed in an authentic holy site surrounded by greenery. It was an honour to be able to stand on holy ground and admire the agiasmo drops, various chapels, priest rooms, alfrescos on the wall and history.
The tour continued to Zigana which was a beautiful location very much like the Swiss Alps followed by Hamsikoy village and the delicious Sutlac of the region.
Our tour guide Samil was excellent and explained the history in thorough detail answering all questions we had with a smile. Our driver Ismail accompanied us to every location in a swift, comfortable and prompt manner with traditional pontian music to create the perfect. atmosphere.

Great memories of beautiful places - Great experience with so many great memories. Şamil our tour guide and Hussein our driver were very friendly, they were very polite and accommodating, they made the whole trip better off course.
