- Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area - It’s challenging to find views as breathtaking as these. At the western edge of the Gorge, the perspective from Crown Point offers a prime view of the majestic Columbia as it unfolds and carves through the Cascade mountains. From this vantage, numerous spectacular waterfalls cascade from basalt cliffs, lining the Historic Columbia River Highway, including the renowned Multnomah, Horsetail, Bridal Veil, and Latourell falls. The scenery becomes increasingly expansive, magnificent, and vibrant as it extends eastward.
- Portland Women’s Forum State Scenic Viewpoint - The view is truly stunning, making it one of the premier locations to appreciate the beauty of one of the world’s most picturesque places: the magnificent Columbia River Gorge.
- Vista House - Constructed in 1917, the Vista House stands on one of the most scenic points along the Historic Columbia River Highway. It was designed to offer travelers a place to rest and rejuvenate as they journeyed through the magnificent Columbia River Gorge.
- Latourell Falls - Latourell Falls is a stunning waterfall, notable for being the closest major waterfall of the Columbia River Gorge to Portland. It features impressive overhanging columnar basalt cliffs, allowing Latourell Creek to plunge 249 feet freely without touching most of the underlying cliff, making it one of the more distinctive waterfalls in the gorge.
- Wahkeena Falls - This 242-foot waterfall is a tiered type, named after the Yakama word for “most beautiful.” Although not as tall as the nearby Multnomah, it is equally charming. We will stop here as parking and timing permit.
- Bridal Veil - As we travel through the town of Bridal Veil, we discover a place steeped in history. Once the center of a thriving lumber industry in the Columbia Gorge, this charming town now features a small post office and a peaceful nunnery, along with other quaint attractions.
- Horsetail Falls- Columbia River Gorge - Named for its distinctive shape, Horsetail Falls drops 176 feet within sight of the Historic Columbia River Highway’s “Waterfall Corridor.”
- Multnomah Falls - Just a 30-minute drive from Portland, this waterfall is as magnificent and unforgettable as any in the nation. Visiting Multnomah Falls, a 611-foot-tall, awe-inspiring cascade of icy water, allows you to experience the power and beauty of nature up close and effortlessly. Our visit will include a trip to the iconic Benson Bridge and a stop at the gift shop. However, please be aware that the hike to the top of the waterfall is quite long and steep, so it will not be part of this tour.
