Highlights
  • Ayn Khor - Any Khor is an amazing place. There is a seasonal waterfall in Khareef season. This place will only be visited in khareef and when there is a waterfall. For the other part of the year, this place will be replaced with the other popular place during that time (beach and / or other mountain place - like Ayn Ghaidh)
  • Eftalquot viewpoint | مطل افتلقوت - The view from this view point is amazing and you can see the pristine Indian Ocean. There is a small trail that will lead you to the shore. Very good place for hiking lovers.
  • Al Mughsail Beach - The journey of Salalah is incomplete without a trip to white sand beaches of Mughsayl on the Western side of Salalah. The beach has lots of white sand
  • Marneef Cave - There are blowholes overlooking Marneef cave. The blowholes are also referred as Mughsayl Natural Fountains by the tourists. The water jet from the blowholes vary according to the season, but can get as high as 28m in the sky in Khareef season. This is a unique trek in the Middle East where you start your walk from beach and go up to a cave and end up at blowholes.
  • Al Fizayah Beach - Fazayah beach is the most rated tourist attraction in Dhofar. An off-road track will take you to the Fazayah Beach. Here, you can walk along the pristine beach, swim in the wonderful Arabian sea. Occasionally you can see the camels passing by. This brings a flavor of adventure to the road trip. In addition to the Fazayah Beach, you will see the Frankincense trees on the rocks.
  • The Frankincense Trail - See the frankincense tree and enjoy the historical story and tales from the guide about the frankincense trail and trade.

Additional Information

This is an excursion to the western coastal region of Salalah. Fazayah Beach (also known as Al-Fazaiah or Al-Fizayah) is a top destination in Oman, featuring a stunning 5-kilometer stretch of unspoiled white sands, crystal-clear waters, and an impressive backdrop of landscapes. A skilled driver will navigate a 4x4 vehicle to this destination. The beach offers an ideal setting for swimming and enjoying a picnic. Salalah’s experience is incomplete without a visit to the white sands of Mughsayl Beach and the spouting blowholes near Marneef Cave. Tourists often refer to the blowholes as the Mughsayl Natural Fountains. The intensity of the water spouts varies with the season, rising up to 28 meters during the Khareef season. It’s a distinctive trek in the Middle East, where the path begins on the beach, ascends to a cave, and concludes at the impressive blowholes. The excursion also highlights additional exquisite locations on the west side, such as Eftalqout Beach and Afoul Beach (also known as Masood Hidden Beach).

Amazing - Toyota Landcruiser picked me up on time. (I guess the car type depends on the number of passengers.) Our tour guide Adel was very friendly, sociable, and accommodating. I should also note that he is a very careful driver which is very important when driving on steep mountains. West tour includes more beaches and driving across the mountains. Thus, there were fewer bathrooms and food stalls on the way, unlike the East tour. So it’s better to grab your snacks. There is a cafe and an ice-cream truck in Mughsail Beach. Water was provided throughout the day. We had lunch at around 3 pm in an Omani restaurant. It was delicious. To enter the Prophet’s tomb, women must cover their heads, so grab a scarf. I loved the scenery of the west side of Salalah more than the east side. The main reason is that the east side isn’t that green and waterfalls aren’t there yet (June 16-21). Overall, I loved every moment of this tour!

Amazing tour - we enjoyed every second! - We visited Salalah for weekends in early December. This tour is amazing! Thanks a lot to our guide Abo Salim, he made every second of the trip enjoyable. Our route was very exiting, we looked at amazing beaches in the west coast from the heights, we were making a lot of stops during our trip, the first one was when we met camels, we saw them in live for the first time - thanks a lot to our guide for stopping to say hello to the camels. After seeing all beaches we decided where we would swim, we chose a small sandy beach surrounded by rocks. We spent there almost an hour, it was amazing experience like it is a wild or private beach, no people around! Indeed all beaches were without people, clean with water of beautiful colour, white sand. Thanks a lot to Abo Salim, he is a nice person, was very flexible and never hurried up us, we loved the time with him. He stopped us at blue holes and several other places despite the time of tour already ended. We were also lucky to see flamingoes. We had so good time viewing coastline beauties of Salalah and swimming!

Unexpected and beautiful Salalah - With all honesty, we were surprised and delighted by our day with Beautiful Salalah. From a cruise point of view, Salalah in itself was not the easiest port to research. In an itinerary including Muscat and Khasab, Salalah information was a bit scarce, the highlights less condensed, and overall our planning left us with a sense of not knowing what to expect. Upon reading other recommendations, we settled on a beach/nature-focused itinerary... and sent out a query to a different company - twice - as I admit I was unsure of what to make of Beautiful Salalah's web presence. Happily for us, we never heard back from the other company, and that's where we turned to Beautiful Salalah. Lo and behold, barely even hours after my email, Hussain replied with clear details (we requested a full day for the western beach excursion) and proceeded to patiently respond to my subsequent questions. Arrangements were smooth, and we looked forward to the day of the tour where our guide Ibrahim met us right off the ship. We had a fantastic time: Ibrahim is personable and pleasant; time with him filled easily with good conversation and insights while traversing the marvelous landscape of Oman. He shared so much with us, not just the beautiful beach scenes we'd hoped for, but favorite overlooks, stops of interest, and even provided for an impromptu snack break. With both the off-road portions and navigating switchbacks/winding roads, we always felt safe and very comfortable with his guidance. Our time in Salalah was an unexpected highlight and a wonderful introduction to Oman. Many thanks, Ibrahim, Hussain, and Beautiful Salalah for such a memorable day!

Captivating - We joined the group tour and it was a great experience. We are only 5 in a 4x4 with a very friendly tour guide Mohammad. Stunning landscape and clear water. We really enjoy the Mughsail and Fazayah beach.
