We welcome everyone to try their hand at catching a fish through the ice! This is a fun all age, hands on activity. Once you complete a quick check-in, the guide will give you a simple demonstration on the best techniques to successfully catch a fish during your adventure. We do encourage Catch and Release, this gives us and the next clients the opportunity at more and bigger fish, however your guide will cook the fish for you upon request. We fish for multiple different species throughout the Interior including Salmon, Rainbow Trout, Arctic Grayling, Burbot, Pike and Whitefish. While in the cabin there will be hot drinks available (hot cocoa/tea). Once booked we will send you the lake location for your tour.
We also have the option to Pick up & Drop off at hotels for an additional fee, however, you must contact us to check the current availability.

Olnes Pond is located at 10.5 mile Elliot highway at the Olnes Pond Campground.

Ice fishing in Fairbanks - We had a fun ice fishing experience even though the fish weren’t biting. Our guide, Jake, was friendly and knowledgeable. Overall, we highly recommend this activity.

Great experience…. - It’s a difficult place to meet especially with Wi-Fi being spotty. I did text the provider for clarification with a rapid response. Jake, our guide, set everything up and We were comfortable and had good instruction…. Unfortunately, no fish🥴 not Jake’s fault…he tried everything he knew to lure them towards us. They just weren’t having it…Great experience! Thanks Jake😉

Good experience - Warm and welcoming vibes from the start. We caught a fresh rainbow trout, and Jake cooked it for us on the spot. The whole experience felt thoughtful and cozy. Highly recommend!

fishing is exciting - Jack is an excellent guide, very nice to us and fish, he kept a warm tent and get is try all the inside and outside fishing holes, we caught 6 fish and let all go, super exciting.

Highlight of my trip! - Had a lot of fun fishing for the first time. Was quite anxious at first because i was the only one on this tour. But it was fairly easy to get a hang of it at first and Jake was so patient with teaching me the basics and answering my random questions. We caught quite a few rainbow trouts and Jake grilled one to eat (which was delicious!!). Definitely recommend doing this when you’re here, especially getting Jake as your guide!

We came to Alaska for our... - We came to Alaska for our honeymoon and my husband loves ice fishing! It was so enjoyable and honestly wished we would have had more time. Our guide was wonderful and even cooked up some amazing fish we caught. The 3 hours went by very fast, and you could also fish inside or outside the tent. Great experience!

First time Fishing was amazing - Amazing time fishing!! Not only did we catch about 30 fish, Jake cooked 2 of them for us and it was soooo good!! 10/10 recommend this experience! I would def do this again the next time I come visit!
Make sure to purchase a fishing license for the day if you don’t already have one.

Highlight of our trip! - It was amazing! We caught so many fish. Jake was our guide. He was full of information and told us exactly what we needed to do to bring in all the fish. We caught 30+ rainbow trout and 2 huge Burbot fish. We had a great time.

Freezing and Unprepared – No Guidance Provided - I recently participated in the 3 Hour Ice Fishing Experience with Reel Alaskan Adventures in December 2025. Unfortunately, the experience did not meet my expectations for two main reasons:
• No Instruction Provided: As someone looking forward to learning the basics of ice fishing, I was disappointed that there was little to no guidance or teaching throughout the session.
• No Hot Drinks: Fishing out on the ice is freezing, and we were not provided with any hot drinks to help stay warm, which made the three hours quite uncomfortable.
Overall, it felt more like just sitting on the ice rather than a guided "experience." I hope the team improves their service for future guests.
