Navigate through moss-covered ancient canyons using various techniques such as jumps, slides, and rappelling down waterfalls over 80 feet (25 meters) high!
- A maximum of 13 people per booking
- Consumption of alcohol before the tour is prohibited and anyone under the influence of alcohol will not be permitted on the tour and will be charged full cancellation charges
- Minimum age is 13 years
- Minimum number of participants required for tour departure is two. Canyons reserves the right to cancel any tour where the minimum number of participants is not reached.
- Moderate fitness is recommended
- Okutama is located within the western part of Tokyo prefecture outside of the hustle and bustle of central Tokyo, is surrounded by lush nature and can be accessed by car or using local train departing from Tokyo or Shinjuku stations

- The only required items to bring on the tour are your swimwear and towel

First Time Canyoning ~ An Unforgettable Experience In Okutama - It was my first time canyoning, and even though I was pretty chicken even for the beginner’s course, the guides were really kind and encouraging, and I made new friends in the group! The scenery was so incredibly gorgeous, I wouldn’t have minded just taking photos the whole time. It was like being in a forest from a Studio Ghibli. (Hence the course being named after Princess Mononoke.) The entire group was super fun, and the guides were super professional, friendly, and put safety first. I’ll definitely be back for more, and with a little more courage now that I know what to expect. Definitely recommend!!

Awesome Tour for a Family - Great trip! We are from Minnesota, USA so we had no idea what to expect. But upon arrival, they gave us full wet suits, socks, shoes, and helmets. The suits are buoyant, so you don't have to be an expert swimmer. We had Ericson as our guide and he is from Canada & speaks English! He was top-notch and super fun! We are a family of 4 with 2 young adults (18 & 19 years old). Everyone had a great time. You take a 30-minute bus ride. Hike up 20 minutes. You get to repel, slide, and jump all the way down into amazing pools. If there is ever a spot you are not confident in doing the activity there is a way to walk around.
We took the subway from Tokyo to the town. Then did the 1/2 mile walk to Canyons.

Best summer memories - It was my first time playing in the river! The two guides were so bright and gentle and fun♪ The river water was so beautiful and pleasant, diving, natural slides, zip lines… It was a great canyoning experience! They also take a lot of photos and videos, and at the end they give it away for free, making it a really nice summer memory. I really recommend it!!
I want to enjoy another level of canyoning next♪

Enjoy the great outdoors just outside the city center! - It was my first time canyoning, but I really enjoyed the friendly explanations from our Guides Kou and Eri and the brightness of their smiles throughout. A river ride in a valley surrounded by mossy rocks… I was so impressed to see such luxury in a day trip from the city center. It's full of adventure and really recommended!

Great escape to the nature :) - We had a great time in the Big Mononoke Canyons, with some amazing natural sights. It was a great experience overall, with plenty of rock jumps, sliders and ziplining. The water temperature was perfect for cooling down, too.
I'd highly recommend anyone who loves nature to go canyoning with Canyons. Their guides are also really nice and helpful.

Extremely fun and unique experience! - Super super fun experience! Fully guided canyoneering trip in the Japanese countryside with full safety equipment, good company, and amazing tour guides. They spoke fluent English and were extremely detailed and helpful. Always felt safe and had fun like never before - jumping off a cliff into a natural waterfall is an experience like none other.

Canyoning in Tokyo! - The activity started with a briefing which was simple and had no fuss. The equipment (clothing and gear) made me feel really cushioned and safe. The 2 guides with us Ko and Asok made sure I was not left behind (since i lagged in the hike). If i had a magic wand, i would wish to be transported to the top of the mountain and not have to hike the inclines but i survived that and totally enjoyed the rappeling, sliding, swimming and ziplining back to the bottom of the mountain!
