Firostefani - (Optional) Firostefani provides the same stunning view of the Caldera as the capital, but in a more serene and relaxed setting. It’s an excellent choice for accommodation, being just a 15-minute walk from the heart of Fira, allowing easy access to the vibrant nightlife while still offering tranquility. The coastal path between Firostefani and Fira is a delightful and popular walk, especially in the cooler early morning or evening hours. The village itself boasts numerous restaurants, bars, and shops along the main street, ensuring that even if you choose not to venture out, all necessities are conveniently available. However, with Fira so close, a visit is highly recommended. Firostefani is ideal for couples seeking to explore the Caldera while enjoying a peaceful holiday. It is less suitable for children, as the beach is a 20-minute drive away, and there is limited entertainment for young children.

Imerovigli - Imerovigli, one of Santorini’s most remarkable villages, has been perched on the highest point of the caldera since Byzantine times. The early settlement of Skaros is believed to have been established in 1207 by the Venetian James Varotsi, who received Santorini after the Crusaders conquered Constantinople in 1204. The modern village overlooks an impressive volcano, approximately 300 meters above sea level, and is located about 2 km northwest of Fira on the road to Oia. Besides the paved road, a path connects the village to Santorini’s capital, offering endless views of the unique volcanic landscape. Today, Imerovigli is a well-developed tourist destination in Santorini, featuring top-notch hotels, restaurants, and shops, attracting tens of thousands of visitors from around the world each year.

Megalochori - Traditional Village - Megalochori’s central square features two impressive churches: the Church of the Introduction of the Blessed Virgin Mary, with its wooden iconostasis and Byzantine icons of the Russian school, and the Church of Agia Anargiri, which celebrates a major holiday on July 1. The village has been mentioned in written sources since the mid-17th century and appears on an 1801 map. Findings in the broader area suggest it has been inhabited since the early and late Cycladic periods.
-
Emporio - (Optional) Emporio is the largest settlement on Santorini, located 12 km from Fira. Unlike the cosmopolitan settlements of Fira and Oia, which are above the caldera, Emporio is situated at the foot of Prophet Elias mountain. The name Emporio, meaning trade, reflects the village’s historical economic significance as a trade center. Its well-preserved architecture exudes a medieval aura, resembling a fortress built to protect inhabitants from pirates. As piracy ceased, the village expanded to its current layout. At the heart of Emporio is Kasteli, a unique castle town with walls made of cement and volcanic materials.
-
Red Beach - Red Beach is a strikingly colorful beach, aptly named for the towering red rocks and reddish sand with black pebbles along the coast, showcasing the island’s volcanic activity. The best view of the beach is from the top of the cliff, offering a stunning photo opportunity.

Kamari Beach - Kamari village in Santorini is located on the seashore, boasting one of the most beautiful beaches on the east coast. Situated 9 kilometers from Fira, it is near the airport and the mountain of Meat. Kamari is one of Santorini’s largest villages, with about 1300 residents, and its beach is considered the island’s most popular. The village underwent significant reconstruction after the 1956 earthquake, with many residents relocating from Episkopi-Gonia. Nearby, atop Mount Mesta, are the ruins of ancient Tyre, one of the island’s major archaeological sites, along with the prehistoric settlement of Akrotiri. Visitors can reach the ancient Shooting Gallery by donkey. The ruins of the old seaside town And I, once the harbor of Ancient Tyre, are now submerged in the sea around this area.
-
Fira - (Optional) Fira has been Santorini’s capital since the 18th century and is the island’s most cosmopolitan settlement. Previously, the capital was Skaros in Imerovigli, one of the island’s citadels. As Skaros was gradually abandoned, inhabitants moved to Fira, establishing it as the new capital. Located in the middle of the island’s western part, Fira sits directly above the caldera, opposite the volcano, offering breathtaking sunset views. The city is characterized by picturesque alleys, whitewashed houses carved into the caldera’s foot, numerous scenic corners, rich history, and enchanting beauty. The volcano is visible from any point, and the sunsets are mesmerizing.
