Highlights
  • Bay of the Bones Museum - This museum is replica of pre-historic settlement. You will be able to see the wooden pile-dwelling settlement and get familiar with the life at the lake from the period of about 3000 years ago.
  • Monastery of Saint Naum - Church of St.Naum is 10th century church that used to be the first hospital in the area, founded by St.Naum. In the later centuries the church has been rebuilt, but the grave of St.Naum remain original, and as per the legend you can hear his heartbeat from his grave.
In the area are located the springs of “Crn Drim”, attraction by themselves with the crystal clear water coming under the mountain Galichica from Lake Prespa. There are small rawing boats that you can take for a tour through the springs.
There are nice restaurants too, and beach area where you can swim and sunbathe at the lake.

Great day, great value - The boat was comfortable and not overcrowded compared to the other boats providing the same trip. Staff were friendly, drinks were reasonably priced, good WiFi on board. The monastery was pretty but our highlight was the rowing boat through the springs which cost 300 denars pp if you shared the boat , our boatman was very knowledgable and the springs themselves were stunning. Lunch options in the restaurants were plentiful and again reasonably priced. We are not beach people but enjoyed sitting where the springs flow into the lake, very cool and relaxing. All in all a lovely day out .

A lifetime experience, I would definitely love to return - Our first stop was the Bay of Bones, an archaeological site of pre-historic pile-dwelling, followed by the main attraction, St. Naum Monastery where we had about three hours to look around and have lunch at a pricey restaurant. The monastery had a beautiful view of the crystal-clear waters of the lake as well as the Albanian shore.

Excellent value for money boat trip on the lake - Well organised boat trip on the lake with enough time to visit both sites. Everything ran on time, good commentary on board, boat was comfortable. Value for money and recommend while in Ohrid!

St Naum is beautiful - St Naum is so beautiful, restaurant in the spring was excellent. Not enough time at Bay of Bones. Would probably take a trip there on its own as looked very interesting. Definitely worth the 20 euros.

Great value trip. - We are two adult plus two 14 year old boys and their grandmother. Good trip for everyone. Lake was so flat and the weather was lovely. We first stopped at Bay of Bones. Cost to get in was 150MKD Adults / 60 MKD children (£2 / 83p). There was enough time (even with a 70 year old) to see the huts and museum and still walk up to the remains of small Roman fortress for great views. After that we went to St Naum monastery. We had three hours there which was long enough to visit monastery, get lunch, walk the path around the springs and visit the other churches, plus stop and sit down by lake for drinks and ice cream. We ate at Cuba Libra which was just ok. Dearer than restaurants at Ohrid, but still a lot cheaper than UK prices. Food was average, salads & chips that were supposed to come with meals came out almost immediately, rest of food took 15-20 longer !? There’s two other restaurants there and a beach bar. I recommend trying them rather than Cuba Libra. Drinks on board boat were very reasonable (we only drank soft drinks and coffee) but lots of people had alcohol which was also reasonably priced. Seats were comfort able and it was a great trip.

Lake Ohrid - Value for money for the boat trip. Not long enough at Bayof Bones as the boat was late and had 25mins - hour too long at St N. 2 hours plenty. Worth it for the boat ride though.

Boring. Book a tour beforehand, otherwise, you'll be sitting around - It was a boat ride. Nothing more. We didn't even stop at the Bay of Bones. We got to the monastery at 11:30 and the captain said, "be back, 3:45." We were left to wander on our own without a tour. It was boring.
