Highly recommend...... - We planned a little visit to this part of the Balkans for a little look-see (take a look and see if we want to come back). We spent 5 nights in Skopje and had been planning to book a coach/bus ticket to get us to Tirana for the remaining 4 nights. Then reality bit and we considered the transaction costs in time/energy and general wellbeing in organising a taxi with our tonne of luggage from our AirBnB to the coach station, minding the luggage/booking the ticket, getting us and the luggage on the coach (and hoping all the luggage stays on the coach for the whole trip) and face it, 5 hours of fairly dreary countryside, with all the same in reverse at the other end - unload, change money, organise taxi to get us and the luggage-tonne to our apartment in central Tirana. Well we didn’t think too much longer. I googled private transfers from Skopje to Tirana and after wading through all the ‘big’ expensive and no doubt well commissioned sites (viator…get your guide etc), I found an honest-to-goodness company based in Macedonia. Yay! Nice website, excellent reviews on Tripadvisor, in English and they take credit cards. They had a reasonably priced direct transfer in a Mercedes E Class, door to door. Obviously a lot more expensive than a coach - BUT - you get what you pay for. So we thought about that for a day or so - then we looked a bit further on the website and found they also do the trip via super scenic Lake Ohrid, with a private walking tour and the opportunity to get lunch. At this point the additional €100 seemed a reasonable price to make some beautiful memories in this part of the world. We communicated via WhatsApp - all good, even arranged a short stop at Matka Canyon first thing and on the way which was very much appreciated. We completed the booking, paid via card online and had confirmation of our driver and car registration plate the following evening. We were picked up by Miki (#2…?) at 8 am on the dot, spotlessly clean Mercedes in excellent condition, loaded the luggage, took off to Matka Canyon (beautiful - we understand why it’s a highlight of visits to Skopje), timed our short stroll perfectly and left just as a coach load of poeple arrived. We continued on to Ohrid - just stunning! We had a perfect day weather wise and a wonderful (I repeat, Wonderful!) guide who met us at the lake. Her name was Ivana and we highly recommend her services - so friendly, so helpful and a complete guru on Lake Ohrid and it’s history. We had an amazing time (frescos, paper shop, theatre, stunning views) and took far, far too many photos (and Ivana is a legend with a camera - lots of lovely photos of us too). We finished our walk around at 2 pm, spent an hour having superb pizza at Leonardo Pizza, including one to take with us) and back into the car at 3 pm - arrived in Tirana at 6 pm due to good traffic. Honestly - if we hadn't taken this trip, via this method, then Skopje would have been almost a write off. If we happen to find ourselves in this part of the world again we would definitely use this company (and Miki and Ivana) to visit other areas of interest . Great communication, easy payment by credit card, a slick operation (and thank you Miki - stopping at clean service/gas stations for requisite toilet stops was much appreciated!)

Great way to travel between Macedonia and Albania - This is a really great way to get from Skopje in Macedonia to Tirana in Albania, and to see some of the two countries in between. The company was really easy to deal with, everything was prompt and straightforward and, most importantly, I felt at ease as a solo female traveller. The wonderful Naumka showed me around Ohrid, her beautiful hometown, with passion and energy. I really enjoyed Naumka’s company and all the wonderful things she had to show me. I would definitely recommend.

Excellent transfer and nice ride! - Ohrid is a beautiful city with a gorgeous lake! Naumka was the best travel guide on our stop in Ohrid! She has a passion to share her city with all tourists. Our driver safely transferred us in a black Mercedes from Skopje to our hotel in Albania. Easy, safe and fun! A job well done!!

Great experience! - Our private transfer from Skopje to Tirana with a tour in Ohrid was a fantastic experience. Communication with the company was very good, the car was a very comfortable luxury sedan and our driver was very pleasant. Our Ohrid tour guide, Naumka, was fantastic. She possesses a great deal of knowledge about the city and is a kind and caring guide. We're so glad that we were able to experience the beauty of Ohrid. We highly recommend taking the boat ride on the lake as well. If you're traveling from Skopje to Tirana, take this tour. You won't regret it.

Ohrid, a "must see" destination! - The trip from Skopje was remarkable for the incredible scenery and the stop in Ohrid. Our driver Dragon shared invaluable information about life in Macedonia, and our guide in Ohrid, Naunca, was absolutely terrific as she explained the ancient history of the region while we toured the amazing town and took in the unbelievably beautiful scenery around the lake.

Great services all around - We took the private transfer from Skopje to Tirana with a walking tour in Ohrid. Communication with Miki was fast and efficient. We had Dragan who drove us safely through rain, snow and sunshine. Seriously, the weather we had was really unpredictable. In Ohrid, we had Naumka to show us around. We particularly enjoyed the “off beaten” track through the woods and ended at this spectacular view of Church of St John at Kaneo. Naumka also brought us to the Turkish part of the city where we had lunch. Glad that we had her as our guide as it was obvious she loves her city.

Transfer driver excellent and guide... -
Transfer driver excellent and guide appreciated but as such an early start would have preferred a break before quite an intense, long walking tour of Ohrid. Unfortunately weather was not good but the place is delightful and a gem. Having the opportunity to see Albania because of the drop off, this should definitely should be a transfer to consider for those who wish to see the Balkans.
