The beaches and mountains were beautiful, we liked the Dolphins and Sea turtles. Baby turtle release was the highlight - It was a long trip but worth it. It took up the entire day. The driver was open to minor changes to accommodate which was nice. Definitely recommend

Recommended - It’s worth it, if you want to have a day to go to see whales and dolphins, get to know the local market, release baby turtles into the sea and see a great sunset.

Full Day Excursion to Puerto Escondido - Excellent option for a full day excursion! Though the highway is still very much under construction, which led to an additional hour for the trip, the van was super comfortable. I appreciated the team of Eduardo and Angel! They were very accommodating, drove excellent, and shared wonderfully insightful knowledge about the regions. Overall, if you're looking for a full day of a Puerto Escondido escape, then this would be the best choice. I highly recommend brining a lot of pesos and don't feel obligated to eat at the restaurant that they take you to to begin the day. I prefer finding my own food selections. As a solo traveling female, I felt very safe and would approve this for any other people who want their safety prioritized.

Great concept. - This excursion/itinerary is a fabulous concept. Visit Puerto Escondido to then come back to Oaxaca on the same day. I cannot go into details as perhaps they are specific to the excursion I participated in, nevertheless, the execution of the experience needs to be reviewed and revamped.

Buy with civitatis for turtle included - The only reason this is getting four stars is because of JOSE our tour guide!!! He is really the most awesome tour guide I’ve had!!!! He was so caring when the company insisted I pay for the turtle release instead of honoring their word. José took very good care of us and gave us enough time to really feel relaxed. Jose took us to the coffee tasting, chocolate tasting, have alight breakfast, plenty of time of the boat ride and looking for whales. Now it’s not always guaranteed since it’s Mother Nature but the boat ride was awesome you can even buy drinks and take them with you. I had the pleasure of also having José as a tour guide to another tour and he was just as caring. Tips: in order to receive the free turtle to release you must book directly with Paraiso huatulco in which they add 3% to the price or through civitatis tour company which is cheaper. If you book through Viator you will need to pay 250 mx. which isn’t bad but I spoke to a representative she explained what was included and than even recommended I book through Viator if I felt more comfortable. Also they don’t pick you up from your hotel due to the festivities but at night when we are getting dropped off I couldn’t comprehend why they won’t drop us off closer. On this tour or to etla. Either way Jose made this experience an unforgettable and the hiccups with the company weren’t his fault.

Worst Tour We Took in Mexico - My wife and I took this tour on Tuesday, July 22nd. Unfortunately the tour failed to deliver on many of its promises. I really debated on whether to take the tour or not, but in the end I booked it because it promised the opportunity to release baby turtles. There are even pictures of people releasing baby turtles included in the tour's description. When my wife and I asked the tour guide about this, we were told that the turtles are not released until right before sunset and that releasing them was not an option because the tour van had to start its return trip back to Oaxaca before that time. When I pointed out that was not what was promised in the tour's description, I received no answer. The following comes directly off the tour's website: Upon reaching Punta Zicatela, it will be time to rest, forget daily problems, or participate in optional activities according to your preferences, such as enjoying local cuisine, taking surf lessons, going to a beach club, renting bicycles, quads, or participating in the release of baby turtles at the end of the day, which will be an unforgettable experience. None of the "optional activities" were even offered. When we reached Punta Zicatela, our tour van was met by a representative of one of the beach restaurants and we were told that if we "hurried" we would be able to get a table at the restaurant without having to pay a table fee. I can't help but feel that this was all prearranged for the benefit of the restaurant. There were plenty of other restaurants on the beach that were happy to offer you a table if you ordered something, no table fee included. We were suppose to have four hour during this part of the tour, instead we were given two. A beach boat tour is also advertised as something that is included with the tour. The boat tour is list in the "What's included" part of the tour description. There was a boat tour offered, but my wife and I and the others that wanted the boat tour were all told that we needed to pay a couple hundred pesos each. Other things such as the two hour "walking tour to admire the local crafts and capture images from the main viewpoints of Puerto Escondido, including the renowned surf beach, Zicatela, and a workshop of looms and typical clothing from the region," simply did not happen or the time supposedly allotted was significantly reduced. In place of this two hour walking tour, our tour guide announced that anyone who wanted to browse the local craft shops had 40 minutes to do so before the van departed back to Oaxaca. I could go on. I can't help but feel that our tour guide simply wanted to get home early. Lastly, I will say that he did not speak English. Everything was done in Spanish, and there were no accommodations made for non-Spanish speakers. A fact that was not advertised on the tour's website. Luckily, my wife is fluent in Spanish, so we were able to communicate with him. Had it not been for her, I would have been completely in the dark. Other reviews of this tour seem to indicate that others have had a more positive experience than we did. Our experience was very disappointing. Out of a three week vacation in Mexico and many great tour experiences, this was the worst.

Stay away, It's a scam! - Don't wast your time, you risk loosing a full day!! They contacted me asking if I wanted to change date, not easy for us but we managed to change another planned tour - but at the end they never showed up and we lost the day. Thankfully I managed to get refunded from TripAdvisor.
