Great experiential and educational value - Miguel was very knowledgeable and shared about the history of the Zapotec and Mixtec peoples, amongst others, while guiding us through this amazing archaeological site. He shared much about their cultural practices and differences from the Aztecs. The Mount Albàn site is one of the most well preserved sites I’ve ever experienced. Very cool.

Morning tour to Monte Alban - Efficient trip up to Monte Albán in comfortable van. Booked the 8am tour in a Saturday to beat the heat and it worked out well Miguel scooted us up to the ruins quickly allowing us a bit more time ahead of the crowds. He had a lot of info which honestly went a bit over my head, but started to come together as we had an hour of free time to explore on our own. We were dropped off downtown and encouraged to go to Cultural Museum next to Santo Domingo Cathedral which really capped off the tour perfectly.

Great tour except for the guide - Monte Alban is an amazing place, and we arrived nice and early so that the first part of our visit wasn’t too hot. Unfortunately, Miguel, our guide, seemed very rushed, and we didn’t always understand his explanations of the site. He got us where we needed to be, but always seemed to be in a hurry except when chatting with the local men who were selling artifacts. He waited to show us photos of treasure that was found at Monte Alban until we were in the bus hurtling back to town. I couldn’t look at the pictures for fear of becoming carsick. If the guide had been better, this trip would have been superb.
