Breathtaking Views - Visiting Hierve el Agua was one of the best parts of my trip to Oaxaca, and having Paul as our tour guide made it even better! The views were absolutely breathtaking. The petrified waterfalls, mineral pools, and surrounding mountains were like something out of a postcard.
Paul was friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about sharing the history and natural beauty of the area. He gave us interesting background on the formations, led us on a scenic hike, and made sure everyone had time to relax and enjoy the pools. His energy and warmth made the experience feel personal and unforgettable.
The drive up was a bit rough, with a moderate hike up the mountain, but totally worth it once you see the view. I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Oaxaca — and if you can, ask for Paul!

Paul was a great guide,... - Paul was a great guide, extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and speaks excellent English. This trip is also great because it’s Hierve el Agua only — a much shorter and more flexible trip than most of the other Hierve el Agua tours.

Definitely book this one... - Definitely book this one ☺️ Paul was a really wonderful guide, he told us lots of interesting information about the formation and the plants whilst we hiked around. We had an hour to swim in the pools which was the perfect amount of time and after we had a really great lunch. Couldn’t be happier with the experience. Also glad I did just the half day because I was knackered afterwards!

Must do! - Wonderful way to see Hierve el Agua! The guide (and driver) was so professional and nice (and his English was perfect). Excellent pickup location in Centro de Oaxaca and 1.5ish hour drive each way. We enjoyed the small (45 minute hike) to see different views of the water/cliffs and then we had an hour on our own to swim! The trip was particularly well planned as we left earlier than most other tour groups, so we had the place to ourselves for the first bit. Bring cash for the lunch vendors, water, sunscreen and sneakers or hiking shoes! Not that strenuous, however.

A Fun and Informative Tour! - Hierve de Agua is a beautiful place. Our tour guide, Paul, was so knowledgeable about everything. We learned about local communities, culture, plants, mezcal and more! There was something for everyone on this tour. The hike was done in an enjoyable pace which gave ample opportunities for questions, scenic views and photos. Overall, I highly recommend this tour with Paul.

Perfect Way to Visit - Really enjoyed this trip, more of a condensed version of many other trips out there. Got to experience the pools with out too many other people around which was really nice, and enjoyed hiking to the base of the falls to really get up close and see the environment. The hike is very steep though, which caught some people off guard. Paul was fantastic and had lots of great info to answer any questions. Had a delicious lunch at a nearby stand with some fantastic fresh fruit and coconuts!

Paul picked us up right... - Paul picked us up right from our hotel which was very convenient as the tour started early. We stopped to get churros and tamales and headed to the waterfall. Along the way we got to see Mezcal being made in the traditional way and small town life. Paul took us on a hike to the bottom of the falls explaining different plants and geologic areas as we went. At the end, the hike was steep up to the top where we had time to swim in the pools. It was beautiful! We then ate lunch before leaving. We liked that this was only a half day excursion, it was the perfect length of time for us. Paul is very knowledgable about this area and it was overall a great experience!
