Highly recommended - We had an awesome time! Léon was the best guide. He gave us lots of information and extra stops to make the trip really special. The mezcal tasting with Santiago was great - we ended up getting way more mezcal than advertised (and they advertised a lot!). The hike at Hierve Al Agua is difficult but beautiful, and you can immerse in the cold water afterwards. Taking a tour is a little bit touristic, but we had a nice group so it was definitely worth it (instead of renting a car) and it was great value for money. Make sure you ask for Léon as your guide as he is truly the best and feels like a friend!

What a day! Hierve Del... - What a day! Hierve Del Agua is a spectacular place to visit, and our guide was exceptional - friendly, knowledgeable and fun. Seeing the process by which Mezcal is made was fascinating… and the tasting was positively intoxicating. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Great tour, with very... - Great tour, with very knowledgeable guides. The hike was easy—we didn’t hire a local guide for that part so walked on our own. The pools looked nice and refreshing, but the weather was a bit too cold for us to fully swim so we just dipped our feet in after the hike. Others in our tour group were braver and went for a dip though. The mezcal tasting was generous—we had 10-14 samples and learned a lot about the distillation process along the way.

Great operator - recommend! - Great organizer and great tour. I didn’t want all the other fuzz that other organizers offer and I wanted to get to hierve el agua early so this was great for me! I definitely recommend going with Oaxaca by locals. Stefi was a great tour operator and made the ride so much more interesting and fun! :)

Highly recommend!! - Our guide Margarita was very friendly and knowledge and fun! We had plenty of time to.enjoy the water pools and explore on a 1 hour hike. The Mezcal tour was also wonderful, super cool to see the entire cultivation and distillery process of the agave and to try the different Mezcals. We definitely recommend this tour

Things to do in Oaxaca - It was a really super fun and great, exciting tour. We will be the best driver and as it turns out bartender José and Léon didn't forget our cool tour guide! You made it a great experience!

Hierve el Agua and Mezcal - Boil the water is a poor translation of "Hierve el Agua" that makes it sound unsanitary. It actually means "boiling water" and reflects the beautiful bubbling and swimmable calcite pools. Its a really pretty place and worth the trip. You can buy a swimsuit or whatever you need there. If you have your own transportation considering going back to Mitla over the mountain, its steep and gravel but you can do it, and at the top is the lovely mezcal distillery "Portal al Cielo" - Entrance to the Sky (or Heaven) - with lovely views back where you came and on to the Valle Central of Oaxaca. The road turns up the hill from another distillery as you pass through nearby Roaguia,

Great day out with Oaxaca by locals, I definitely recommend it. - Had a fantastic day doing the Mitla, Tula, Hierve el Agua, Mezcal tour earlier this month (4 December). Good commentary from our guide and the size of the group was just right. For me, it was a last minute booking and I'm really glad to have done it. Especially enjoyed Hierve el Agua and of course the mezcal visit. Good value, too. Definitely recommend it.
