BEST PLACE TO LEARN HOW TO SURF - It was such a cool experience. Our instructor was so informative and made it so easy to learn. Was able to catch a wave on my first try. Justin was an awesome teacher and fun to hang out with. Would highly recommend this place. Definitely bringing my kids next time. Thank you guys for an awesome experience.

A "Must Try" Experience - Being someone who doesn't typically enjoy water-based activities, I had way more fun than I ever expected to! I got plenty of waves in during my 1 hour lesson and my instructor even helped me paddle back out when my arms started getting tired, which honestly happened faster than I thought it would. If you ever been even slightly curious about surfing and want to learn, this is the place to go!

Top Flight Surfing! - Excellent experience! Nico was helpful beyond expectations and this old dude had some stellar rides. Would definitely go back to TG! Btw, the videographer, James, not only provided a memorable video and still shots but helped with suggestions while in the water as well. Mahalo for the TG crew!

Awesome surf lesson on Waikiki - Highly recommend Ty Gurney Surf School! went out for an hour on 6 Feb with Nathan. Had an amazing time, learned a lot about the local area and caught some waves! I absolutely recommend this surf school to beginners looking to learn the basics, or experienced surfers new to the island. thanks again for the great time, and I am looking forward to my next lesson! Great people great time great waves great surf school - Brush best experience I've had in a while. Staff friendly and made sure I stayed safe. I was able to stand up the very first try! Making it worth the money, since I'm trying to learn surfing as a hobby I will be back. I recommend them. One on one is always better i would of been upset in a group. My guide never left me and allowed me to try based on my comfort level.. paddling is a workout lol I'm sore but its a good sore. Big Mahalo

Great service from beginning to end - Booked 2 private 1 hour sessions and had an awesome time learning to surf. Managed to stand up and surf on my first wave thanks to the great instructors and getting towed out made the entire experience much more enjoyable and tiresome. Definitely looking forward to repeating this experience next time back.

Everyone young/health enough should do this at least once - The instructors are friendly and helpful. Didn't know how to get back down on the board and didn't really think about it until catching a wave. Ended up with coral scrapes on elbows and knees. Afterwards he said it was the same process as getting up. Guess I should have known that. Only other negative is that the instructor pointed to a kid who was doing better than I was and said 'see it's not that hard, even that kid can do it". I'm sure he meant it as encouragement, but it made me feel really stupid. The instructor was very patient and knowledgeable and I felt very safe with him.
