Our guided tours will take you back in time as you learn about the church’s origins and its deep cultural significance. Built by early Calvinist missionaries and Native Hawaiians, Kawaiahaʻo Church was the first permanent western-style house of worship in the Hawaiian Islands. It served as a rallying point for Native Hawaiians during the Kingdom period and became a symbol of Hawaiian cultural identity, language, and independence.
- Ali’iolani Hale - Aliʻiolani Hale, one of the most impressive government buildings in Hawaii. Completed in 1874, it was the first major government building constructed after the Kingdom of Hawaii was established.
- King Kamehameha Statue - Learn more about the man who united the Hawaiian islands in 1810 after years of bitter warfare between the chiefs.
