So Much Food!!! - Don’t delay book this tour today! It is well worth the amount of money it cost. We left stuffed! My husband is a big football player and had leftovers! I booked this tour for my family, which included my husband, seven-year-old daughter, 60+ year old mother-in-law and me. It was a perfect tour… we started off with breakfast at a bakery, then appetizers of different types of poke, pork, fish, and then local fruit from the market, then a full lunch and lastly dessert which was shaved ice with ice cream in the middle!!! Omg!!! The tour guide was stellar, personable, intellectual very kind and professional. Everyone left with a full stomach and knowing more about Hawaii. We drove to each of the stops, so there wasn’t a whole lot of walking. It was perfect!

Great Tour with Amazing Food - Amazing, delicious, fresh food. We had a variety of different foods, sweet and savory. Our guide Victor was knowledgeable, provided great customer service and local history. My mom had dietary restrictions and Victor was very accommodating and she enjoyed everything. Great food tour. Be prepared to eat well.

It’s a must-do Hawaii experience! - I highly recommend this tour! Victor, our local guide, was super friendly, well planned, and knew all the best local places to eat that you would most likely never visit on your own. From the delightful pastries at the bakery to Chinatown’s fresh fish poke dishes, they were a treat to the mouth; from the savory, exotic fruit to the mouthwatering garlic shrimp, each bite was a hidden gem for food lovers. And definitely go hungry!

Best Tour Guides!! - DO NOT EAT BREAKFAST BEFORE YOU GO ON THIS TOUR!!
We were a party of 7 & were joined by a couple. The van was spacious and well appointed. Our guides were Victor & TJ.
We had 4 stops. First up a bakery where Victor took coffee/drink orders & got us each an assortment of pastries. Everyone got their own!! Obviously couldn’t eat it all, so they made sure we had a nice box to take the leftovers.
Next stop was a seafood store that had different styles of poke & other seafood. Again each couple got their own assortment - everything from octopus to Lomi Lomi salmon., some smoked fish & opihi. The guides gave us the background on which ethnic group introduced each offering as well as where some of the shellfish and seaweed are gathered. We had people that said they don’t normally eat “raw” fish, that tried the poke & ended up enjoying it because the fish was so very fresh & well seasoned.
As we were driving from location to location - important landmarks were pointed out & discussed.
Lunch was above a grocery store where there were some great food stalls. Garlic shrimp (way too much to finish) as well as rice w/garlic sauce w/ the drinks of our choice. Both TJ & Victor served us at the tables. We all ended up wrapping leftovers to go. (They have a large Yeti cooler in back of the van as well as additional plates, napkins & wipes)
Last stop was at the best shave ice place on the island. Victor told us what he usually ordered (I opted for the same) but you could order whatever you wanted. While we were waiting Victor discussed other great places to try & advocated a Korean place that added tons of sliced mango to their offering.
Something I thought added a very personal touch was the fact that we were discussing the Li Hing Mui powder that is great added to the shave ice, but also great on fruit. Victor got each couple a packet - so very thoughtful.
He also said we could text him with any questions or Resturant suggestions during the rest of our stay.
Food was good, but the conversation on where to get the best saimen, the best kimchee fried rice, great fish dishes, etc. as well as different tidbits on buildings, history, etc. really made the tour.
Needless to say, you’ll have a ton of leftovers, so don’t make dinner reservations either.

Victor is excellent! - So many new flavors in historic Chinatown. Victor was informative, engaging and led an excellent tour through the fresh markets. We had top grade poke, sushi, roast duck, roast pork, sweet shrimp, fruits I’d wondered about and those I’d never seen. Come hungry! Leave happy!

Delicious - My mom and I went on the Da Locals food tour with Victor and it was super tasty! There was a wide range of food stops (pastries, poke, shrimp and shaved ice) and Victor shared some Hawaiian history between stops. He was super friendly and answered all of our questions (even those non-food related). We were very full by the end of it, and even had food to take home after. We’re extremely happy we took this tour and 10/10 would recommend
